In 1943 a battle was fought between the U.S. and Canadian First Special Service Force and German troops in Italy. Known as the Battle of Monte la Difensa, the courageous performance of the U.S. and Canadian forces on this occasion was essential to the final Allied victory in Italy.

When Canadian Special Forces commissioned Spartan Blades and master cutler William Harsey to produce a blade for them, we knew we wanted to create something special. Our goal was to create a knife that would serve the Special Forces for years to come, both in the northern woods of their homeland and in missions around the world. The result was the Spartan Harsey Difensa, named after the infamous and hard-fought victory achieved through cooperation between Canadian and U.S. forces.

The name refers to the excellent use of this custom tactical knife in the field and on the battlefield. The spearhead profile of this handcrafted knife is flat, with a tapered top edge that provides excellent tip strength, balanced penetration, and cutting power.

The full tang and handle of the Spartan Harsey Difensa allow for neutral balance in the user's hand. Combined with the ergonomic Micarta canvas handle, modified from our Model II, with no rear joints, this custom combat knife provides the griper with a comfortable and secure grip in both dry and wet conditions.

After more than 40 years of service in the U.S. Army Special Forces, Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey founded Spartan Blades LLC in North Carolina. Curtis, who had already been designing and drawing knives for his friends in the Special Forces for years, and Mark, who had always been involved in military and tactical equipment when he served in the "Green Berets," decide to combine their skills and passion with the goal of building innovative and functional knives using the highest quality materials and made entirely in the United States.

To commemorate in our own way the 50th anniversary of the death of our great-grandfather Giuseppe Maserin known as "Belu" (1885 - 1972), an Alpine soldier of the 4th Battalion Cadore Regiment and Cav. of Vittorio Veneto, we wanted to make a dagger in the manner of the "Arditi", that is, inspired by those handcrafted daggers that were made from the former bayonets of the Carcano 91 rifles. Specifically, we were inspired by the shape of the bayonet that was made at the CO.RI.CA.MA factory in Maniago.

We called it BeluM joining the M of our surname to 'Belu', thus obtaining a reference to the Latin word 'bellum'. It is a project of clear historical inspiration, but realised with modern machinery, technology and materials. The stenciled wooden box deliberately recalls the features of the crates in which war material was once stored.

BeluM is dedicated to our great-grandfather Giuseppe and all the heroes who sacrificed their lives for their country in any way.

This limited edition Magnum Tanto style piece is based on a historical Japanese samurai sword that was popular during the Heian period (794-1185). The modified dagger-style blade, based on a design by the legendary blacksmith Amakumi, refers to the period when samurai lived the 'bushido' or 'way of the warrior'. The shape of this blade is called Kissagi-moroha and is derived from the Kogarasu-maru sword. The material of the blade is 440A stainless steel with a rich two-tone finish. The traditional handle is combined with synthetic material simulating tsuka and ray skin; the Tsuba provides a secure grip. Supplied with a genuine leather sheath and presentation box. The Kudu Hunter fixed-blade knife offers an excellent balance between form and function: the wide drop point blade is reminiscent of its predecessor model Harpoon, but without the dedicated thumb rest. The handle is extremely comfortable for different types of grips, and its shape does not cause fatigue during long periods of use. The Kydex scabbard has a Kydex belt loop that allows you to switch between normal belt carry and scout carry, right or left handed, with ease. Japanese steel blends with Italian excellence

For this 2022 collaboration, between the Collini Cutlery of Busto Arsizio and the Fox of Maniago, we have decided to propose the 103MB Outdoor model designed by Reichart Markus. Only 18 exclusive pieces of this excellent bushcraft knife produced by Fox of Maniago were made, using for this edition the Japanese V-Toku2 steel in Sanmai 5mm produced by the Japanese Takefu Steel instead of the Niolox used in the series model.

Specifically, we used V-Toku2 carbonaceous at 62 / 63HRC for the central plate and SUS410 stainless steel for the two external plates, in order to guarantee, in addition to a beautiful aesthetic effect, a very high cutting capacity, penetration and sealing of the wire together with an ease of re-sharpening and maintenance. At the same time the blade has a remarkable resistance to corrosion and an important increase in resilience given by the type of external steel and by the laminated structure.

Japanese steel blends with Italian excellence

For this 2021 collaboration, between the Collini Cutlery of Busto Arsizio and the Fox of Maniago, we have decided to propose the 609OD Bushman model, an excellent bushcraft knife produced by Fox of Maniago, using Japanese V-Toku2 steel in Sanmai. produced by Japanese Takefu Steel instead of the D2 used in the production model.

Specifically, we used V-Toku2 carbonaceous at 62 / 63HRC for the central plate and SUS410 stainless steel for the two external plates, in order to guarantee a very high cutting capacity, penetration and sealing of the wire together with an ease of re-sharpening. and maintenance but at the same time the blade has a remarkable resistance to corrosion and an important increase in resilience given by the type of external steel and by the laminated structure.

Carl Schlieper Stahlwarenfabrik & Export was originally a trading company founded between 1754 and 1798 in Remscheid, Germany. Products included knives, tools and freehand razors. A branch of the company in Solingen was responsible for the production of knives including slipjoint, automatic knives, daggers, machetes, bowies, razors and kitchen knives. Over the years, several trademarks were created and 22 patents held by the company and millions of pieces sold worldwide.
