Boker Plus - Dvalin Folder Drop Knife - D2 - G10 Black - 01BO548 - knife
As one of the four blacksmiths, the dwarf Dvalin created the Brisingamen necklace for the Germanic goddess of love, Freya. In Norse mythology, this special jewel is attributed with magic, love, but also pain and suffering. Freya's tears in the sky always promised rich fruits on the earth.
However, it was the wrath of the father of the gods, Odin, that often drove the goddess of love to unleash wars in the world of men. Dirk Hofmeister of Midgards Messer was inspired by the art of Nordic forging and created the folding blade version of the beloved Little Dvalin.
The powerful Dvalin Folder Tanto impresses with its compact dimensions and features a Tanto blade in D2 steel with ball bearings, finished with a rough stonewash appearance and equipped with a deep engraving on both sides to open the folding knife using the recess as a nail lever.
The engraving on the top of the blade offers a secure grip for the thumb during complex cutting operations. Despite the wrath of the gods, the well-formed and partly grooved G10 handle always fits firmly in the hand. On the back of the handle is the stainless steel Frame Lock that securely locks the blade.
With a commercial 3D printer, it is possible to print alternative handles in various shapes, colors, and materials. The Tip-Up (r) clip matches the handle's texture, while the lanyard hole increases ease of use. It comes with a high-quality nylon case for storage.

The modified dagger-style blade, based on a design by the legendary blacksmith Amakumi, refers to the period when samurai lived the 'bushido' or 'way of the warrior'. The shape of this blade is called Kissagi-moroha and is derived from the Kogarasu-maru sword. The material of the blade is 440A stainless steel with a rich two-tone finish. The traditional handle is combined with synthetic material simulating tsuka and ray skin; the Tsuba provides a secure grip. Supplied with a genuine leather sheath and presentation box. Limited to 1,999 pieces worldwide, each serialised.

The Difensa (named for the famous battle fought by the Canadian / US First Special Service Force during WWII in Italy) is an excellent choice for all around field or battlefield use. We and William Harsey were asked to make a knife for a Canadian special operations force that would serve them well in the north woods of their homeland and on worldwide deployments alike. We believe we have met and exceeded their goals, by creating a combat knife that does everything it should. The spear point profile is flat ground with a tapered top edge that provides for an excellent cutting edge with good tip strength and penetration balance. The Difensa's full tang and handle provide for neutral balance in the users hand.
