'Silvertip Fibre®' is very soft at its fine tips, but somewhat more stable than natural hair in the middle section.

These characteristics produce a pleasant, soft sensation on the skin when the lather is applied, without having to forgo the desired firmness of the hairs in the lathering process. In daily use, the manually processed fibres are less sensitive than natural hair as they dry more quickly and are resistant to shaving soaps and creams. The completely vegan fibres are also somewhat easier to use than natural hair as they produce a particularly creamy and thick lather from a small amount of shaving soap or cream, which is used much more sparingly as a result. Nel piccolo villaggio di montagna di Aveyron (sud-ovest della Francia), nasce nel 1829 un modesto coltello da contadino. La sua famosa 'ape', simbolo di prestigio e di qualità, che orna la molla, ne farà il coltello più celebre di Francia. L'antenato del Laguiole è nato dall'adozione della Navaja, dalla forma arabo-ispanico, portata a inizio del XIX secolo da coloro che partivano a lavorare in Spagna. Nel 1880: apparve il cavatappi, richiesto dagli abitanti di Aveyron del nord, 'emigrati' a Parigi per lavorare nei bar (garcon de café). Il Rosario dei pastori che figura sul manico è la miniaturizzazione e simbolo della santa croce. Il Laguiole veniva piantato nel pane, fungendo da "Croce" e così utilizzato per la preghiera di quelli che partivano per lunghi mesi a causa della transumanza, e lontani dai luoghi di culto.
