The Opinel Mountain Legend collection is inspired by actual engravings shepherds made on Alpine shelter walls. Genuine "Heart" Boxwood handle gives this knife it's silky yellow finish.

Please note that the "lines / groves" on the wood handle of this Opinel Legends knife will darken with use and as a result become more noticeable.

Opinel No8 is the most versatile size in the ever growing line of Opinel folding knives. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and it's 3 1/4' blade prevent it to be considered a weapon in most states (check with your state).

In collaboration with Tactical Wander we decided to bring them light utility, the Lynx model, in an exclusive satin-blade version that uses the famous Japanese Steel San Mai produced by Takefu Steel. Specifically, we used, for the central plate, the CoS to 61,5HRC (Cobalt Special, considered mechanically superior by 25% compared to the already much appreciated VG10) and 420J2 (56 HRC) for the two side plates in order to ensure high cutting capacity, but at the same time a remarkable resistance to abrasion, resilience and resistance to oxidation.
