Le spade (se affilate) sono armi proprie da punta e taglio, e come tali vi è l'obbligo, ai sensi dell'art. 38 del T.U.L.P.S., di acquistarle fisicamente dietro presentazione di porto d'armi o di permesso d'acquisto rilasciato dalla propria Questura e di denunciarne all'autorità la detenzione. Per le spade è normalmente vietato il porto fuori dall'abitazione ed il trasporto è consentito previa presentazione del relativo avviso al Questore, ai sensi dell'art. 34 del T.U.L.P.S. e dell'art. 50 del Regolamento.
