ExtremaRatio - Herring NE - Fairbairn Sykes Dagger - tactical knife
The Herring dagger is one of the most loved military knives by enthusiasts.
Its original name is Fairbairn Sykes or Commando Dagger and it was present in the endowment of the British Commandos.
A dagger that entered Italian history in World War II, thanks to the exploits of young soldiers of the 1st "Folgore" Reconnaissance Squadron, who were equipped with this weapon during Operation Herring. He has behind him a heroic piece of history that is rarely talked about, despite the fact that these young boys, thanks to their devotion to the cause and their courage, have written an important page in Italian history.
Extrema Ratio wanted to pay homage to this dagger trying to remain faithful to the original forms, while using the most modern production techniques.
The very special hand-made finish of the handle simulates the aging of brass and gives the dagger a dated look, similar to the original.
The dagger was developed in collaboration with the 185th RAO and adopted as a ceremonial commemorative dagger for the 20th anniversary of the regiment's establishment and the 75th anniversary of the Herring mission.
The knife is equipped with a polymer case with historical frieze of the F Squadron, leather / kydex sheath with brass tip and two commemorative scrolls.
PLEASE NOTE:
NE version, simulacrum replica with rounded tip and blunt blade, to allow free sale and possession according to the current regulations in force on the Italian territory. We warn that any subsequent modifications and sharpening made to the blade modify the status of simulacrum of the Herring NE. In this case it will be subject to the regulations in force in the respective countries. Furthermore, these changes will void the Extrema Ratio warranty.

Sheath: John David Evers is a former US Army Ranger, deployed several tims thru the years, overseas. He grew up in Texas, in a ranch, and developed an early passion for knives since the first one he was gifted, which never left his side.
Knowing what using a nife actually means, he became a bladesmith creating his own style and blades preferences, at the beginning for those who were serving , stretching later on to every day use tasks and lately, a forged line for kitchen cutlery .All of John’s works are in 1084 steel, no CNC machining, blanks or mechanical aids: hammer, anvil and forged each and every time, differently.
So you can call every work a ‘one of a kind’ , as it truly is.
His passion for details led him to use different kind of handle materials, ranging from natural and exotic woods - with carbon fiber or other available materials inlays - to G10 and micarta for those who prefer syntetic, weather-proof tools.€385.25Article code: JDE-CP

ExtremaRatio - Selvan Heavy Utility Survival Knife in San Mai V-TOKU2 - Limited Edition - knife
Japanese steel blends with Italian excellence
For this 2020 collaboration, exclusive of Collini Cutlery, we have decided to propose a series of best sellers produced by Extrema Ratio. Knives made with the famous San Mai steel produced by Japanese Takefu Steel. Specifically, we used V-Toku2 carbonaceous at 62 / 63HRC for the central plate and SUS410 stainless steel for the two external plates, in order to guarantee a very high cutting capacity, penetration and sealing of the wire together with an easy regrinding. and maintenance but at the same time the blade has a remarkable resistance to corrosion and an important increase in resilience given by the type of external steel and by the laminated structure.
Selvan model: for this First Production Run a run of 5 pieces numbered from 1 to 5 was created. The Selvans was born from the collaboration between Extrema Ratio and FISSS (Italian Federation of Sports and Experimental Survival). The project consists of modifying the Ontos, a military survival knife, to accentuate and maximize the performance of the knife as a hiking tool.
The handle has been lengthened and the blade weighted to favor the effectiveness of the cutting strokes and to make more use of the inertia of the stroke.
Intended use: Heavy Utility
Type of production: Industrial
Production Lama: Italy
Blade: integral, laminated Japanese steel (San Mai) with V-Toku2 (carbonaceous) cutting edge at 62 / 63HRC and SUS410 (stainless steel) external scales
Blade treatment: Testudo
Handle: Forprene
Blade length: 15.5mm.
Blade thickness: 6.3mm.
Total length: 310mm.
Thick when closed: -
Balancing: advanced
Weight: 424g.
Sheath: nylon, MOLLE compatible
Packaging: Cardboard box with Extrema Ratio logos
Notes: Numbered edition - cardboard box with Extremaratio logos and certificate - being the cutting edge in carbon steel it is advisable, in order to keep the blade in perfect condition, to protect the edge with a light surface of oil.As in the ancient Japanese Samurai swords.
The rolled steel - imported into Italy by Collini Steel directly from the Japanese Takefu Steel - is based on the ancient Japanese tradition in the creation of the famous Samurai swords. In fact, as early as 1100 the expert Japanese blacksmiths combined different materials together to give the Katana swords incredible cutting capabilities combined with a resistance and flexibility previously unknown. It is thanks to this revolutionary construction technique that Samurai swords have been preserved to this day, becoming one of the most fascinating objects made by man. Following this tradition applied to modern metallurgy, today we are able to have technologically advanced steels already tested and used in cutlery also by famous brands such as Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, etc.
Characteristics of San Mai steel: These are different types of metals bonded together to create a composite that encloses and intensifies the strengths of the metals individually taken:
- Longer tool life
thanks to the use of very high quality steels with high carbon content (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered (SPG2), in the heart of the sheet (Core Steel), the blade, once hardened, achieves decidedly hardness and cutting performance higher than those achieved with the use of traditional steels.- Greater resilience
built on the principle of Japanese swords, multilayer steel is difficult to break thanks to the toughness of the central steel (Core Steel) and the elasticity of the steel used for the side facing (Stainless Steel).- Better corrosion resistance
the steel used for the external layers (Stainless Steel) guarantees the blade a high resistance to corrosion. The combination of the two or more materials used by Takefu Steel generates, on a galvanic level, a structure that improves corrosion resistance even on the wire.- Easy processing even after heat treatment
although steel normally becomes harder after quenching, the lateral steel used in multilayer processing does not lose its softness and allows easy processing, drilling or welding even after heat treatment. For an optimal performance of the blade, cryogenic treatment is recommended.- Improvement of the aesthetic result
The knives made with multi-state steel or with a damask pattern at the end of the processing are aesthetically elegant, refined and highly appreciated by collectors all over the world. For more information: collinisteel

Horn, wood and cornotech are raw materials that by their nature have a marked variability from one supply to another: this is the beauty of quality materials. Add the craftsmanship, where the hand of the craftsman never performs the same gesture: it is the beauty of craftsmanship. Combine all this and you will have a product that is always different and unique. Consigli Scarperia - Romano con anello 30cm - ox horn - 50060 - knife
The "Roman" testifies to the widespread mentality in the Papal States for which the knife was considered as a faithful friend to be constantly worn "in his pocket" and to be unleashed at the first hint of a fight or for an immediate response.
Many elements constituting the "Roman" bear witness to the offensive use that distinguished this knife: the sharp blade, the decorations of the lattice handle or fish bone that served to improve the grip, the locking system with fixed spring that prevented the knife could close up accidentally and that at the time of the opening emitted a dry noise that exalted the aggressive expression.

As in the ancient swords of the Japanese Samurai.Rolled steel - imported into Italy from Collini Steel directly from the Japanese Takefu Steel - is based on the ancient Japanese tradition in the creation of the famous Samurai swords. Already in 1100 the expert Japanese blacksmiths in fact combined different materials to give the Katana swords incredible cutting capabilities combined with a resistance and flexibility previously unknown. It is thanks to this revolutionary construction technique that the swords from Samurai have been preserved to the present day becoming one of the most fascinating objects made by man. Following this tradition applied to modern metallurgy, we are now able to have technologically advanced steels already tested and used in cutlery also by famous brands such as Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, etc.
Characteristics of San Mai steel: These are different types of metals bonded together to create a composite that encloses and intensifies the strengths of the metals taken individually:
- Longer tool life
thanks to the use of high quality steel with a high carbon content (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered (SPG2), in the heart of the sheet (Core Steel), the blade once hardened, achieves decidedly hardness and cutting performance higher than those achieved with the use of traditional steels.- Greater resilience
built with the principle of Japanese swords, multilayer steel is difficult to break thanks to the toughness of the central steel (Core Steel) and the elasticity of the steel used for the lateral coating (Stainless Steel).- Better corrosion resistance
the steel used for the outer layers (Stainless Steel) guarantees the blade a high resistance to corrosion. The combination of the two or more materials used by Takefu Steel generates, at the galvanic level, a structure that improves corrosion resistance even on the wire.- Easy processing even after heat treatment
although normally the steel becomes harder after hardening, the lateral steel used in multi-layer processing does not lose its softness and allows easy processing, drilling or welding even after heat treatment. For optimum performance of the blade, cryogenic treatment is recommended.- Improvement of the aesthetic result
The knives made with multistate steel or with damask pattern at the end of the processing are aesthetically elegant, refined and highly appreciated by collectors all over the world. For more information: collinisteel

Fox - Radius Black G10 - Special Edition in SanMai SPG2 - CO-550G10B - knife
With this exclusive edition of Coltelleria Collini in collaboration with Fox, it was decided to combine an innovative and award-winning model such as the Radius by Denis Simonutti, a Japanese steel from powders (sintered) and laminated (SanMai) by Takefu Steel.
For this project we have chosen to use Super Gold2 (SPG2) steel at 62 / 63HRC for the cutting edge of the blade in order to guarantee exceptional cutting performance and duration of sharpening, while ensuring at the same time a remarkable resilience and resistance to oxidation. given by the blade lamination process.
Intended use: Sports / Collection

Notes: Design by Denis Simonutti - Winner of the Blade Show 2019 in Atlanta as "Knife of the year" and "Imported knife of the year"The rolled steel - imported into Italy by Collini Steel directly from the Japanese Takefu Steel - is based on the ancient Japanese tradition in the creation of the famous Samurai swords.
- Longer tool life
thanks to the use of very high quality steels with high carbon content (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered (SPG2), in the heart of the sheet (Core Steel), the blade, once hardened, achieves decidedly hardness and cutting performance higher than those achieved with the use of traditional steels.- Greater resilience
built with the Japanese sword principle, multilayer steel is difficult to break thanks to the toughness of the central steel (Core Steel) and the elasticity of the steel used for the side facing (Stainless Steel).- Better corrosion resistance
the steel used for the external layers (Stainless Steel) guarantees the blade a high resistance to corrosion.
The knives made with multi-state steel or damascus pattern at the end of the processing are aesthetically elegant, refined and highly appreciated by collectors all over the world.€151.64Article code: CO-550G10B

Fallkniven - Taiga Hunter knife - TH - SanMai CoS Steel - thermorun - knife
The taiga knives are distinctive hunting and all-round knives for the demanding user. A strong blade in laminated cobalt steel does not only mean a stable function, you notice quite quickly that the edge holds the sharpness really well without being brittle. The reason is the fine, well heat treated and tempered steel but also the convex shaped edge that is not only strong but also wood-sharp. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides a secure grip regardless of weather and wind.If you look at function and most value for money, the rubber-handle Taiga blades should be preferred. Regardless of the weather and wind, the rubber handle gives a really good grip and when it comes to the steel properties they are of course as good as the knives with wooden handles.Intended use: Hiking / Hunting / Collection
