Fällkniven AB celebrates its 40th anniversary in the international knife market with a special version of its bestseller, the F1 Pilot survival knife, now made of high-quality Swedish steel (Elmax). This special model originates from 1987, when the Swedish Air Force commissioned Fällkniven to develop a new survival knife for the technical environment of the JAS 39 Griffin system.

The first delivery of thousands of F1 knives to the Swedish Armed Forces took place in August 1995, and sales to the civilian market began the following year. The success was remarkable: Fällkniven introduced an innovative philosophy for survival knives, in stark contrast to the outdated technologies that had dominated the development of combat and survival knives since World War II.

Knives made in collaboration with Dönges are specialized tools for difficult and demanding rescue operations. In designing the Belone, Danish Jesper Voxnaes started from typical lines of the Italian regional tradition, perfectly reworked according to his modern, minimalist style that has made him famous worldwide. The result is a light, tapered folding knife embellished with refined details, such as the holes in the back of the handle.
The Böhler M390 Microclean steel gives the Belone excellent cutting qualities, and the ball bearings make it the fastest flipper opening, perfectly integrated into the overall design. Designed specifically for the seven Mercury Program astronauts, the Model 17 accompanied these pioneers on the United States' first manned space flights. Astronaut Gordon Cooper contributed to the final design of this knife, making it not only a survival tool, but also a piece of history. Two examples of this knife, rich in historical value, are currently on display at the Smithsonian Institution.

The Jupiter folder represents the culmination of the evolution of the locking system already used on the well-known Radius and Saturn, compared to which it gains a new safety lock that allows the blade to inhibit rotation in both the open and closed positions.

The design takes up the salient features of the two previous models, managing to integrate even better the round element that houses the mechanics. The blade, devoted to maximum practicality, makes the Jupiter the ideal companion in both urban and woodland environments: the tip is sturdy, while the cutting edge has a smooth, steady curvature that is fully usable and easily resharpened.

The handle shines in ergonomics, featuring a wide recess for the index finger and generous space for the other fingers.

The "Lurisinca," a traditional knife from Luras in Gallura, owes its name to the Lurese term for a local woman, reflecting the feminine nature of the "razor blade" used. The Gallurese Razor Blade, a typical Sardinian knife resembling a point-less shaving razor, was essential in cork processing, especially for making "quadretti," precursors to cork stoppers. However, this practice has declined due to the economic crisis, forcing many craftsmen to close their shops. The Gallurese Razor Blade, versatile and always at hand, represented an indispensable tool for every daily need.

The Ant is the most compact among Extrema Ratio's folding knives. Despite its small size, this model features an extremely sturdy, durable, and reliable structure.

The handle is made of two different elements: the cheek piece crafted from anodized anticorodal aluminum and the hardened steel frame which also serves as the blade lock (Frame Lock System). This mechanism involves a part of the frame bending inward to firmly secure the blade in the open position, enhancing the user's safety during the knife's use.

The tang features a hole for the insertion of a lanyard, and on the right side of the handle, there is a steel clip that allows for concealed carry in the pocket.

The Ant is available in 4 versions with two different types of steel, both provided by Böhler, an Austrian company with which Extrema Ratio has been collaborating for over 20 years, using its highly esteemed materials for the production of its blades.

For the Stone Washed M390 version, Extrema Ratio uses Böhler M390 steel, thermally treated to 61 HRC, which, thanks to a powder metallurgy production process, ensures cutting effectiveness, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance over time.

The blade is sheep foot-shaped and has a small hole on the top part to facilitate opening. Its particular structure, with a straight edge, allows the user to comfortably rest their fingers on the back of the knife and use it with ease.
