  1. Boker Plus - Gemtek Knife - D2 - G10 - by A. De Santis - 01BO553 - knife

Rigorous efficiency or flexible dynamics? - A question that doesn't even arise for Alessandra de Santis's Boker Plus Gemtek. It can do both, not to mention the nuances in between. The designer from Hydra Design is known for her spirited creations with maximum functionality.

The Gemtek confidently joins this series and presents itself as a folding knife with a Frame Lock mechanism, featuring a Modified-Droppoint blade in high-performance D2 steel, which opens with a Flipper and impresses with its stonewash finish and a decorative false edge.

The handle front is made of gray G10, equipped with a discreet triangular texture for optimal grip. Carefully balanced elements such as the red spacers with an integrated loop and a G10 triangle on the back, reflecting the structure of the handle's front, elegantly complete the pocket knife's appearance.

The Tip-Up (r) clip allows for deep carry, ensuring the knife almost entirely disappears in the pants pocket. It comes with a high-quality nylon case for storage.

  2. Boker Plus - P51 Mustang Damascus by Steve Kelly - 01BO910DAM - knife

Timeless engineering and lived history! Inspired by a true air classic, Boker Plus presents the P-51 Damast by Steve Kelly as a designer knife with exceptional character. Based on the North American P-51 Mustang, the knife mirrors the material, shape and color of the 1940s fighter plane, creating almost a replica of its historic model.

Some 15,800 examples of this low-wing aircraft were produced in various versions between 1940 and 1948, making it still one of the most built military aircraft in the world today. The P-51 D is the most widespread series, with just under 8,000 examples. The special features of the P-51 Mustang, whose "P" in the name stands for Pursuit, lay in its full-metal aerodynamic construction with characteristic flared pins, which in combination with the massive Packard Merlin V-1650 engine allowed a top speed of 700 km/h with an extraordinary range of up to 3,300 km. These achievements were considered revolutionary at the time and led to the air supremacy of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.

It was not only the unmistakable lines of the P-51 Mustang that prompted Boker's development department to undertake this exciting project. The challenge was to transfer the design language and performance of the combat aircraft into a knife without compromising elegance and practicality.

The heart of the Boker Plus P-51 Damast is its distinctive 80-ply Damascus spearhead blade, forged by Chad Nichols in the United States and composed of original parts from the historic fighter plane. Viewed from the side, the blade has a number of visual reminiscences of the historic fighter-bomber. The thumb hole, for example, is reminiscent of the Plexiglas cockpit canopy, which allowed the pilot an ideal all-around view.

Another prominent feature is the titanium handle, which mimics the aircraft's studded light metal plates to the smallest detail. The blue blade axis screw, which bears the U.S. Army Silver Star, and the red anodized screws, which echo the color scheme of the tail rudder, stand out.

  3. Boker Plus - Kwaiken Mini Flipper Limited Edition 2023 by Lucas Burnley - 01BO497 - knife

Lucas Burnley's Boker Plus Kwaiken Flipper is arguably one of the most influential designs of the 21st century. With its clear and practical shape, this modern pocket knife has become a true icon. The clean lines and slim design, which nevertheless accommodates the entire blade when closed, are absolutely unique.

It is the further development of the well-known Burnley Kwaiken Classic, a knife also in the neo-Japanese style. The flipper ensures intuitive operation and increased safety, while the titanium framelock with stainless steel insert securely locks the M390 steel ball bearing blade.

The exclusive claim of this premium version, strictly limited to 500 pieces worldwide, is underlined by the carbon fiber handle scales with green inserts. The slim design and exclusive material make the Kwaiken a noble crossover between a gentleman's tool and a tactical combat knife.

To make this connection even easier, the Kwaiken Mini Limited offers the same outstanding qualities of its big brother with significantly smaller (and therefore more pocket-friendly) dimensions. The titanium clip is milled from solid, allowing it to be tipped up (r). Supplied with high quality nylon case.

  4. Boker - Sherman EDC knife 110665 - collection knife

The great success of the Boker M4 Sherman Damascus, due not only to the history of the historic Damascus steel but also to the design, prompted us to use this as the basis for a performing and pleasant EDC with a titanium framelock, which, despite the metallurgy of the blade powders, also carries a real piece of M4 Sherman Damascus.

For the blade of the Sherman EDC we used Magnacut for the first time, which is not without reason celebrated as a "miracle steel". Unlike the usually used tool steels, this steel was specially developed for the production of knives. The three desirable properties of a steel - edge retention, toughness and resistance to rust (stainless in the DIN category) - represent a conflict of goals. To make the steel resistant to rust, the addition of chromium is necessary, which makes the structure coarse, brittle and prone to fracture under normal conditions. The high hardness, which has a positive influence on the cutting life, is usually achieved at the expense of toughness. With Magnacut, despite the high chromium content of 10.7% and an impressive hardenability of over 62HRC, it was possible to achieve a very fine microstructure and thus a high toughness and shock load tolerance. The addition of nitrogen plays a central role here.

The central structural difference compared to the M4 Damascus model is the elegantly integrated flipper, which allows the blade to open smoothly with a small impulse.

A special highlight of the Boker Sherman EDC is the protruding Damascus backspacer, which is equipped with a lanyard hole in an elongated slot design. The Damascus of the backspacer was forged from various materials from Chad Nichols' M4 Sherman tank production in the Customized Ladder pattern and resembles the tank tracks left in the ground by the heavy chains of the M4 Sherman.

  5. Boker Plus - ME 109 Damast knife - 01BO909DAM - knife

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was built from 1935 onwards and, with a production of around 33,000 aircraft, is the most widely produced fighter aircraft in the history of aviation. Officially, the type designation Bf 109 was never changed, even after BFW was renamed Messerschmitt AG. However, since all aircraft types later developed by Messerschmitt were given the model abbreviation ME, the name ME 109 also became established in the public consciousness for the Bf 109. In the 1930s, it marked the step towards a new generation of low-wing fighter aircraft with a closed pilot's cockpit, retractable landing gear and an all-metal construction of wings and fuselage. This new structure withstood far greater loads than the fabric-covered tubular constructions that had been common up to then, which also had the disadvantage of immense air resistance due to the necessary transverse bracing. As a result, the Messerschmitt's more compact and stable design allowed higher speeds with tighter radii during the cornering and dive maneuvers so crucial to fighter pilots. The Bf 109 was armed with two 20 mm MG FF machine guns in the wings and two 7.92 mm MG 17 machine guns. The latter were mounted directly in front of the pilot and coupled via an interrupter gear to the propeller shaft of the 1,000 hp Daimler V12 engine. In this way it was possible for the MGs to fire through the circular path of the spinning propeller without the projectiles hitting the rotating propeller blades. The MGs were thus very close to the pilot's line of sight. The pilot's seat was steel-plated inside the fuselage area to protect it from enemy fire.

The steel we were able to obtain for our Damascus project came from an E-series Messerschmitt Bf 109 that was shot down by a Royal Airforce Supermarine Spitfire in 1940 during the Battle of Britain near the village of Ashford in the British county of Kent. The specific parts are the rear plate of the pilot's steel-plated seat and the bearing sleeve of the propeller shaft. These are forged by Chad Nichols into a high-carbon, high-cut 80-layer Damascus.

The Boker Plus ME 109 Damascus picks up numerous design elements of the legendary Messerschmitt. The opening at the back of the blade base has the unmistakable shape of the pilot's cockpit and is visible when the knife is closed and open. The folds in the sheet metal of the engine cowling as recesses for the barrel soul axles of the two MG 17s form the template for the schor at the tip of the blade. The flipper indicates a wheel of the retractable landing gear. For the front carbon fiber shell, the material Toxic Storm from the manufacturer Fatcarbon Materials was chosen in the colors green, black and yellow. The color scheme is based on the characteristic camouflage paint of the Bf 109 with greenish-gray undercoat and yellow front fuselage. The opposite side has a titanium framelock with an elaborately integrated carbide contact surface. A beautifully designed and elaborately integrated clip allows the Boker Plus ME 109 to be worn tip-up on the right. Supplied with a high-quality case for storage and a certificate of authenticity.

  7. Boker - Tiger Damascus knife - 111103DAM - folding knife

Boker Tiger-Damascus adds a very special model to the series of pocket knives steeped in history. Collector's knife with a historical past, a true piece of living history, which combines high quality craftsmanship with authentic materials. Known worldwide as the Tiger, the Panzerkampfwagen VI was used by the Wehrmacht from the late summer of 1942. It is considered to be one of the most famous tanks in history, despite its modest production number of only 1350 units and consequent low importance. strategic. The development of the heavy tank can be traced back to 1937 and series production began in August 1942. Today there are only seven units preserved, on display worldwide.

The tank parts used for the knife blade come from a Tiger I of the Schwere Panzerabteilung 502, which was destroyed in combat in Latvia in the summer of 1944 in a wooded area near the town of Bauska. Based on the wreck found at the original excavation site, it was determined that this Tiger was one of the first models produced.

The straight-cut Boker Tiger-Damascus features a unique Damascus blade made from the steel from the tank destroyed in Bauska. The non-stainless damask mosaic is hand-forged by Chad Nichols and resembles the tank tracks left in the ground by the Tiger's heavy tracks. Unlike conventional damask, damask mosaic production does not create layers, but complex damask bars are hand forged into a mosaic with an elaborate and very complicated process. The blade operates on ball bearings and is locked open by a sturdy steel framelock with stonewash finish.

The overall shape of the knife pays homage to the famous lines of the tank, while the decorative pin screw is modeled on the main drive pinion.

The slightly shaped micarta canvas handle scales feature precisely milled grooves, reminiscent of the characteristic surface texture of the Zimmerit coating of German armored vehicles.
