The sword of Ivanhoe, disinherited and exiled by his father Cedric the Saxon for swearing love to Lady Rowena.

The story narrated takes place in England in the year 1194, at the time of King Richard the Lionheart and the Crusades, in conjunction with the controversies that divide the Saxons and the Normans.

The Knight Wilfred of Ivanhoe, son of the Saxon noble Cedric, loves, in return, the young lady Rowena. The defeat weighs on the pride of the Norman nobility who will make him prisoner with his father Cedric, Rowena and Athelstane. King Richard with the help of Locksley (Robin Hood), will be able to free them, so that Ivanhoe will be able to marry Lady Rowena.

Said Lorenzo the Magnificent (Florence, 1 January 1449 - Careggi, 8 April 1492), he was lord of Florence from 1469 to his death, the third of the Medici dynasty. He was also a writer, patron, poet and humanist, as well as one of the most significant politicians of the Renaissance, both for having incarnated the ideal of the humanist prince, and for the very careful management of power.

Although iron was a tougher material than bronze it would frequently bend. Damascus, or pattern welded steel, was used to make the blade strong enough to withstand the rigors of combat. Early Viking swords were forged from layers of iron interwoven with strands of steel to produce a very tough sword. This sword is based on an original circa 850-900 AD sword discovered in Finland. The Damascus Viking Sword is made of high carbon Damascus steel. The blade is polished with the fuller acid etched to bring out the beautiful Damascus pattern. The pommel and crossguard are made of solid steel and the grip is leather wrapped wood. Includes a matching wood scabbard with a black leather covering and steel mounts. A peculiar characteristic of Celtic swords was the handle in the form of "X", otherwise known as anthropomorphic handle. It was the primary weapon in the battlefield for the Greek armies along with the spear or javelin.
The blade was about two feet long.
The xiphos were good for both cutting and tip attacks thanks to the leaf shape of the blade.
It was generally used only when the spear was abandoned. The straight, double-edged design of the xiphos gave them the same general versatility found in swords used by infantry until firearms displaced the sword on the battlefield.

This replica, built with methodologies and principles very similar to those used in the Middle Ages, is aesthetically detailed and well finished like any display product but also absolutely functional, flexible and well balanced thanks to the production care and the carbon steel used tempered to a hardness 45/49 HRC.

Known by many names (war sword, great sword, broadsword, long sword or simply two-handed sword) it has long confused many collectors but has certainly carved out a place among the most popular weapons.Its length ensures power, resistance and helps to keep a reasonable distance from the opponent. Thanks also to the presence of the ricasso (part of the blade without a cutting edge placed after the guard) this weapon is even more flexible as if necessary it can also be held as a short spear.
