The “Shop Built” line by Ansø of Denmark was created to offer Jens Ansø's original designs in a more accessible and reproducible form than his custom knives, which are traditionally produced in extremely limited quantities. All “Shop Built” models are designed by Jens Ansø in Denmark and made by his team of skilled craftsmen, who take care of every stage of production with great attention to detail.

This product range maintains the same design philosophy, build quality, and craftsmanship that have made Ansø's work famous, but with a more structured and sustainable production process, designed to satisfy a wider audience without compromising on high-quality materials and finishes.

The AROS model

The AROS is a compact and versatile folding knife, designed as a utility tool for everyday use (EDC). Designed by Jens Ansø, it stands out for its unique design and precision engineering, designed to offer superior performance in everyday activities: from opening packages to more controlled cutting and carving.

The AROS features an innovative integral monoblock frame on each side, incorporating pivot screws, button lock, clip, and lanyard hole in a single precision-machined piece. The two parts of the handle are securely joined with titanium screws on the back, ensuring strength and a clean line.

The 2.5-inch (64 mm) blade now features a hollow grind, a new feature that further improves cutting capabilities while maintaining a slim and elegant profile. The flipper tab is designed to ensure quick opening and, once open, also functions as finger protection. The careful shaping of the blade tang contributes to a comfortable and secure grip, confirming Ansø's focus on functionality and user experience.

THE LEGEND
Jimmy Lile (1933–1991), known as “The Arkansas Knifesmith,” was one of the most important American knife makers of the 20th century. Born in Russellville, Arkansas, he made his first knife at the age of 11 and devoted himself professionally to knife making in 1971.

He is famous for the legendary Rambo knives, designed for real use with 440C blades, hollow handles, and innovative details. He was president of the Knifemakers' Guild, and his works were commissioned by presidents and celebrities.

He died in 1991, leaving a legacy of the highest caliber in custom and collectible knives.

THE PRESENT
Today, the Lile Knives, LLC brand is owned by John Hill of McKinney, Texas. In the 1980s, John was already collaborating with Bob Rankin on the sale of original Rambo knives, and in 2003 he co-authored a book dedicated to Lile's work.

After Jimmy's death, John maintained a strong relationship with Marilyn (Lile) Miller and purchased the Lile brand from her to continue producing high-quality replicas of the movie knives, adhering to custom knife standards and guaranteeing Marilyn royalties.

Since 2011, John Hill has been collaborating with Vaughn Neeley, former owner of Timberline Knives, to produce limited editions of Rambo knives that are prized by collectors. Today, Vaughn produces the entire new “Cerakote™ Series,” while the “Utility Series” is produced under his supervision, keeping alive the tradition and quality of Jimmy Lile's original models.

THE KNIFE
“The Mission” is one of the most iconic survival knives ever made, born from Jimmy Lile's vision to combine extreme functionality and military design.

Bud Nealy's MCS II System knives are designed to be compact and lightweight, with a focus on low weight. The MCS System, developed in the 1980s, offers great versatility in carrying thanks to a Kydex sheath that can be adapted with five different attachments (included), allowing nine carrying positions. The USMC Fighter model is our modern and improved version of the classic multi-purpose knife made famous by the United States Marines.

This fixed blade is 6.5mm thick and made of CPM-S35VN sintered stainless steel with Black DLC treatment, measures nearly 30cm. in total length, has G-10 grips with a three-dimensional machined surface, a two-piece Titanium guard with DLC treatment, and a billet Titanium pommel with DLC treatment.

This unique full tang design has all the advantages of a classic slide-over construction without compromising strength, as would be expected from a Medford! With handcrafted brown leather sheath, it is a true 21st century combat knife.

The Model 16 was designed to meet the demand for an almost indestructible multi-purpose knife, including intensive use in salt water (careful cleaning and maintenance is however recommended). A special wax-impregnated sheath is included.

7″ (17.8cm) stainless steel blade with 6.5mm thickness. The top of the blade is slightly serrated to allow easy thumb placement. Black Micarta handle. Extra-heavy 7/8″ (2.2cm) wide tang that extends through a channel in the handle, securely fixed with epoxy.

Citadel Knives and Swords is a sword and knife manufacturer based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Founded by Dominique Eluere in the 1990s, Citadel has combined the expertise of French and local craftsmen to produce blades that rival the best in the world. Eluere began by training Cambodian blacksmiths to make French table knives, later evolving into the production of Japanese swords.

The quality of Citadel swords is world renowned, thanks to the use of traditional Japanese techniques and a meticulous manufacturing process. Each katana is heat treated, creating a blade with varying hardness along the edge and spine, a hallmark of true katanas. The hilt is fully encased in high-quality stingray leather, a rarity compared to common panels.

Attention to detail extends to every element, with every component custom-made for each blade. This includes the tsuba (sword guard) and habaki (blade collar), both of which are hand-crafted and fitted, ensuring perfect fit and functionality.

In addition to katanas, Citadel also produces European swords and knives, maintaining the same philosophy of quality and functionality. Production is artisanal, with particular attention to polishing and finishing, often done by hand with sandpaper and whetstones.

The Smilodon, commonly known as the saber-toothed tiger, was an extinct large feline that lived during the Pleistocene, between 2.5 million and 10,000 years ago. It was a member of the felid family and was distinguished by its unique features, particularly its huge saber-shaped upper canines.

The Smilodon was larger than present-day tigers, with a length of about 1.6-1.8 meters and a height at withers of about 1 meter. Its weight could range from 200 to 400 kilograms. The Smilodon's most distinctive feature were its upper canines, which could reach a length of more than 20 centimeters. These canines were extremely sharp and adapted for grasping and stinging prey. Smilodon is believed to have been a specialized predator, hunting large mammals such as Pleistocene herbivores. Its hunting technique was probably based on a powerful pounce and the use of its canines to maul the throat of prey. It is likely that its powerful bite was capable of severely damaging the bones of its victims.

Despite its impressive appearance, Smilodon was not closely related to present-day tigers, but represented a separate evolutionary branch. It is thought to have become extinct due to climate change and the disappearance of its main prey at the end of the Pleistocene.

"Comix" type coloring refers to a coloring technique used in comic books and illustrations that is inspired by the style of traditional comic books. This style of coloring often features flat, bright colors with sharp edges between different shades. Some hallmarks of comix-type coloring include:

Flat backgrounds: Areas of solid color are applied without shading or complex tonal gradations. This gives a more "clean" and stylized look to the image.

Sharp edges: The borders between different shades of color are often marked by black or dark contour lines. These lines define the boundaries of the various elements in the image and accentuate the contrast between the different colors.

The Kudu Hunter fixed-blade knife offers an excellent balance between form and function: the wide drop point blade is reminiscent of its predecessor model Harpoon, but without the dedicated thumb rest. The handle is extremely comfortable for different types of grips, and its shape does not cause fatigue during long periods of use. The Kydex scabbard has a Kydex belt loop that allows you to switch between normal belt carry and scout carry, right or left handed, with ease.
