Kai Knives

The KAI Group was founded in Seki city, Gifu Prefecture, which has a history of over 800 years as the home of forging blades.
While passing down the skill and spirit which continue to flow in this land, we are aiming to expand our product lines focusing on blades as well as related items.
Nowhere else in the world can you find a cutlery-related manufacturer which has developed close to 10,000 products in the cooking, grooming, beauty care, and medical fields, as well as engaging in the planning and development, production, sale, and distribution of such a variety of products on its own.
By using that to our advantage we are continuing our efforts so KAI products can become a part of the daily lives of people throughout the world.

The Shun Premier Tim Mälzer series, from bread knife to santoku, provides professional cutting tools which will set new standards in the premium segment by providing exceptional performance in a timeless design.

True to Tim Mälzer‘s premise, „A good knife not only makes work easier but also helps to make cooking to turn out well“, each of the carefully manufactured damask knives was meticulously adapted to its respective area of use by the Japanese master forgers from Seki City. 31. Kai Japan - Tim Mälzer Minamo Series TMM-0700 - Paring knife 9cm. - kitchen knives

Tim Malzer - Premier Kai Shun Minamo Series

With its flawless elegance, the Shun Minamo series joins the ranks of Kai's Premier Class series. An artistic combination of different cultures brought together by Tim Malzer's idea of creating the perfect synthesis between the European chef's knife and the Japanese santoku.

This fusion is at the base of the three blades that make up the Minamo series, designed with a clear stylistic idiom.

The unique combination of dark wood grain combined with the damask steel pattern gives each single knife a unique and unrepeatable look.

The name of the series derives from the patter of the damask used for these spectacular blades that recalls the rippled surface of the water plowed by the rain (in Japanese, Minamo).
