The Extrema Ratio X-ANT represents the pinnacle of the “Every Day Carry” Ant series, designed for those who seek quality and innovation in an exclusive folding knife. Featuring a sintered tungsten carbide blade with 71 HRC hardness, this knife offers exceptional cutting ability, outstanding wear and corrosion resistance, standing out for its high-quality materials and meticulous design. The functional design of the X-ANT is enhanced by a blue anodized titanium handle and a Liner-Lock mechanism, making it secure and easy to open thanks to ball bearings. The Ant is the most compact among Extrema Ratio's folding knives. Despite its small size, this model features an extremely sturdy, durable, and reliable structure.

The handle is made of two different elements: the cheek piece crafted from anodized anticorodal aluminum and the hardened steel frame which also serves as the blade lock (Frame Lock System). This mechanism involves a part of the frame bending inward to firmly secure the blade in the open position, enhancing the user's safety during the knife's use.

The tang features a hole for the insertion of a lanyard, and on the right side of the handle, there is a steel clip that allows for concealed carry in the pocket.

The Ant is available in 4 versions with two different types of steel, both provided by Böhler, an Austrian company with which Extrema Ratio has been collaborating for over 20 years, using its highly esteemed materials for the production of its blades.

For the Stone Washed M390 version, Extrema Ratio uses Böhler M390 steel, thermally treated to 61 HRC, which, thanks to a powder metallurgy production process, ensures cutting effectiveness, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance over time.

The blade is sheep foot-shaped and has a small hole on the top part to facilitate opening. Its particular structure, with a straight edge, allows the user to comfortably rest their fingers on the back of the knife and use it with ease.

These high quality knives, are handcrafted in the tradition of French Thiers cutlery.

This large, perfectly balanced Laguiole hunting knife was made entirely by hand in Laguiole, by a master blacksmith, according to the strict LOG (Laguiole Origine Garantie) quality criteria. Depending on the version, it requires from 109 to 216 working steps.

The blade has a very balanced geometry proven over many decades: it is 11 cm long, 3 cm high and 4 mm thick. Both the bee and the area above the ricasso can be used as a thumb rest.

The blade is ground on both sides to about 22 degrees to the cutting edge (flat grind), so that optimal breaking and scoring is guaranteed and, at the same time, the edge does not round off too quickly. 

The handle scales are polished to a high shine with seven different oils and high quality wax pastes on large felt discs. 

The left handle bears the traditional shepherd's cross (French: croix du berger) as decoration.
