Arma nazionale del Nepal e dei suoi guerrieri Gurkha, si distingue per la sua lama ricurva affilata nel latoconcavo e per lo spostamento del peso verso la punta che consente fendenti molto efficaci. L’impugnatura è diritta, senzaguardia. Caratteristico il ricasso (kauri) e il fodero di legno ricoperto di cuoioin cui sono contenuti anche due piccoli coltelli (karda e chakmak).

Nepal's national weapon and its Gurkha warriors are distinguished by their sharp curved blade in the lathe and the weight shift towards the tip that allows very effective gaiters.
