The blade of the DOBERMANN IV S600, made from Böhler S600 steel, offers excellent hardness, wear resistance, and toughness, thanks to the high content of molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium. The addition of cobalt promotes the formation of small carbides, further improving wear resistance. With a hardness of 64 HRC, it ensures long-lasting edge retention. The “EXP DARK” teflon coating protects the steel from oxidation.

DOBERMANN IV S600 features a green forprene handle with a glass-breaking tang. It comes with a green cordura thigh sheath, adaptable for both left and right-handed users and compatible with the M.O.L.L.E system.

Glauca G1, an evolution of the Glauca model, has specific features designed especially for the renowned GSG9 department, a special unit of the Bundespolizei, which has officially adopted it. The handle, made of anodized anticorodal aluminum with tactical mud coloring, is equipped with a tungsten carbide rear glass breaker.

Ferrum T is a folding knife with a clear tactical connotation equipped with a spear point blade with lightening slot. It has a slim and compact shape, the two anodized anticorodal aluminum grips make up a light, slender and at the same time very resistant handle. It can be housed in a breast pocket, in small flashlight holsters or inside a single loop of the M.O.L.L.E. system.

Equipped with a flipper assisted opening system, the blade rotates on ball bearings which allow a smooth and uncertain movement of the blade. This mechanism allows the user to open the blade quickly and easily, even with just one hand. The locking system adopted is the well-tested liner lock. The reversible clip is positioned on the back.

This line of knives fits between the Basic Folders series and the Heavy Folders series. The typical mechanism of the series is the LINER-LOCK. The overall structure is robust. All knives in the MF series have a rear glass breaker. They also feature the innovation of the adjusting locknut on the blade fixing pivot.

By removing the locknut it is possible to tighten or loosen the central pivot as desired, to achieve the desired opening fluidity. It will be enough to lock the pivot screw with the locknut to fix the adjustment. The hemispherical milling on the handles facilitate the change of grip from "saber grip" to "reverse grip". For this 2021 collaboration, exclusive to Coltelleria Collini, we have decided to propose a series of best sellers produced by Extrema Ratio. Knives made with the famous San Mai steel produced by the Japanese Takefu Steel. Specifically we have used the carbonaceous V-Toku2 at 62/63HRC for the central plate and the stainless SUS410 for the two external plates, in order to guarantee a very high cutting capacity, penetration and edge holding together with an easy resharpening and maintenance but at the same time the blade has a remarkable resistance to corrosion and an important increase of resilience given by the type of extreme steel and the laminated structure.

As early as 1100, expert Japanese blacksmiths combined different materials to give Katana swords incredible cutting capabilities combined with previously unknown strength and flexibility. It is thanks to this revolutionary construction technique that the Samurai swords have been preserved until our days becoming one of the most fascinating objects made by man. Following this tradition applied to modern metallurgy, we are now able to have technologically advanced steels already tested and used in cutlery also by famous brands such as Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, etc.

Characteristics of San Mai steel: It is made of different types of metals alloyed together to create a composite that contains and intensifies the strengths of the metals individually taken:

- Longer cutting edge life
thanks to the use of high quality steels with a high carbon content (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered (SPG2), in the core steel, the blade, once hardened, reaches hardness and cutting performance decidedly superior to those achieved with the use of traditional steels.

- Greater resilience
Built on the principle of Japanese swords, the multilayer steel is difficult to break thanks to the toughness of the central steel (Core Steel) and the elasticity of the steel used for the lateral coating (Stainless Steel).

- Improved corrosion resistance
The steel used for the outer layers (Stainless Steel) gives the blade a high resistance to corrosion. The combination of the two or more materials used by Takefu Steel generates, at a galvanic level, a structure that improves corrosion resistance even on the edge.

- Easy machining even after heat treatment
Although steel normally becomes harder after hardening, the lateral steel used in multilayer machining does not lose its softness and allows easy machining, drilling or welding even after heat treatment. For optimum blade performance, cryogenic treatment is recommended.

- Improved aesthetic performance
Knives made of multi-state steel or damask pattern at the end of the processing are aesthetically elegant, refined and highly appreciated by collectors all over the world.

Helmsman is a knife designed and perfected in every single detail for its primary use in a nautical environment and represents the evolution of the BF2 V model presented on the Amerigo Vespucci School Ship in 2013 and dedicated to the most beautiful ship in the world.

The blade, which reaches a length of 87 mm, has a serration at the base while the tip has a flat grinding that allows symmetrical cutting work with wider support while the stone washed finishing process preserves more from corrosion in a marine environment.

Dedicated to those who are more at ease with a knife with a more classic profile, the VENOM is characterized by a wide, flat main grind.

Less suitable for combat, it is best expressed in field and precision work (thanks to the lower angle of sharpening).
