Made in Italy - Polished brass lever corkscrew
Corkscrew dimensions: height 18 cm, width 7 cm Solid brass corkscrew machined from solid, with tempered steel worm with golden brass finish. Historical-critical information: The two-lever system was designed to remedy the asymmetry due to the one-lever system. Models with a two-lever mechanism were very popular. The first patent, due to the Englishman William Burton Becker, was issued in 1880. His model is equipped with two side levers that are hinged on the structure. Its corkscrew manufactured by James Heeley & Sons with the "A1 Double Lever" brand, is equipped with two side levers that are hinged on the structure. In 1888 Heeley himself had the model patented with some modifications that made it even easier. Italy also had its admirers of this mechanical system. In particular, the history of the modern corkscrew can be started with the patent obtained by the well-known bicycle gear manufacturer Tullio Campagnolo.
