This replica of Major Von Tempsky's 6.5” Bowie knife is inspired by the design of the knife he created and assigned to his company of Forest Rangers in 1863.

Gustavus Ferdinand von Tempsky (1828-1868) was a German-born adventurer, soldier and artist, known for his role in the New Zealand Wars and for his leadership among the Forest Rangers. His adventurous life and courage made him a legendary figure, particularly in the context of battles between European settlers and Māori peoples.

He learned the advantages of Bowie knife fighting in California during his stint as a prospector, where he had acquired an excellent American-made knife; once he arrived in New Zealand and found himself in charge of Forest Ranger Company No. 2 with the rank of major, he had about 30 Bowie knives made for his men according to his personal design by a blacksmith in Shortland St. Auckland. The Forest Rangers were an elite corps of mounted scouts employed by the colonial government between August 1863 and October 1867 during the New Zealand Wars.

At the time, knives were made of wagon spring steel, one of the few steels available to blacksmiths in Auckland in 1863, and Von Tempsky, an experienced fighter, taught his men the use of the Bowie knife in hand-to-hand combat. The knife was used to defend against enemy blows while a pistol was usually held in the other hand.

In addition to combat, Bowie knives were used to open paths in the forest, dig defensive positions, cut firewood, and for general use while camping.

The USMC Fighter model is our modern and improved version of the classic multi-purpose knife made famous by the United States Marines.

This fixed blade is 6.5mm thick and made of CPM-S35VN sintered stainless steel with Black DLC treatment, measures nearly 30cm. in total length, has G-10 grips with a three-dimensional machined surface, a two-piece Titanium guard with DLC treatment, and a billet Titanium pommel with DLC treatment.

This unique full tang design has all the advantages of a classic slide-over construction without compromising strength, as would be expected from a Medford! With handcrafted brown leather sheath, it is a true 21st century combat knife.

FRANCO VERNAZZA is a hobbyist knifemaker and by passion a member of A.C.H.I. (Associazione Coltellinai Hobbisti Italiani), this does not take away from his excellent knifemaking skills. Randall Made Knives' Model 11 is the original drop-point blade. Designed in 1952 by Alaskan guide Tommy Thompson it is designed for skinning large prey, has the tip lowered below the top of the blade to avoid cutting too deeply into skins when using the tip first.

Takeshi Saji was born in 1948 in Takefu (Fukui prefecture), a city located roughly in the center of Japan and in the heart of an area for centuries devoted to the production of blades. His workshop is still there, built around the oven thanks to which, for several years now, Takeshi Saji forges steel (especially damascus) with which he makes various models of traditional Japanese knives. The choice of materials for the finishes (mainly natural), the essential lines - evocative of use - and the chromatic combinations of rare impact make his creations unique and unmistakable in the panorama of world cutlery and, at home, they have earned him the prestigious title of Master.

The blade is equipped with a central plate in Blue Steel carbon steel coated on the sides with layers of steel, brass and copper plates that help to increase the resistance to oxidation and resilience.

Once again, Master Saji has succeeded in creating an innovative new art style for his knives, combining the traditional "Sakura-Maki" handle and the striking rainbow Damascus blade.

The Petty is a small utility knife used for peeling, shaping, slicing fruit and vegetables, chopping herbs and making side dishes.

These handmade knives are distinguished by their original line, but functional, well that is coupled alletradizionali manufacturing techniques and materials used.
The blades are in fact hardened coal until Adavere a hardness of about 40 HRC after which, after having been hand-hammered, back and sides are covered with clay and the wire refreshed to 60 HRC to have excellent cutting capacity, flexibility and penetration. The knife is then polished and sharpened by hand on stone and finished in every detail.

Knife handmade, designed and produced in only 10 copies (5 CPM-S30V steel sandblasted and 5 in RWL-34 steel coated TIN) from the known knifemaker Fabrizio "Silvester" Silvestrelli in collaboration with Collini Cutlery.

Further the CSFK feature is the ability to change at will the manicatura the same between the grips included in the package: Micarta Loveless, G10 or Black Paracord Camouflage. The knife can also be deprived of the grips to be used as a spearhead or to minimize the footprint thickness.
