    FRANCO VERNAZZA is a hobbyist knifemaker registered with A.C.H.I. (Associazione Coltellinai Hobbisti Italiani) and this creation of his is loosely inspired by Robert "Bob" Loveless' Bad Bob's Knife, his personal knife. Loveless' original was used during his time in Lawndale and is a unique piece of great historical importance. For that very reason it is so famous and published in tittie texts devoted to vintage custom cutlery.

    This is a smaller version of Bo Randall's original knife, made in the Scagel knife style. 12.2 cm blade made of 4.5 mm thick stainless steel. This size and shape are popular with outdoor activity experts worldwide. It has a nickel silver guard and back cap and a handle made of authentic Indian deer antler. It weighs about 168 grams and comes with a brown leather sheath.

  7. Randall Knives - Model 11 Alaskan Skinner Stag Horn - PRIVATE COLLECTION - knife

    Knife withdrawn from private collection presumably dating back to the first half of the 1980s - overall in good condition - knife still has factory sharpening, but now ineffective - has a couple of small scratches on the blade and a few small marks on the guard - comes with Randall handcrafted leather sheath in excellent condition - Checked and certified by our in-house lab. 

    Randall's Model 11 was designed in 1952 by Tommy Thompson, noted Alaskan guide. An otima blade for skinning big game, it features a serrated top of the blade to facilitate thumb placement and prevent thumb slippage.

    Takeshi Saji è nato nel 1948 a Takefu (prefettura di Fukui), una città situata all'incirca nel centro del Giappone e nel cuore di una zona da secoli votata alla produzione di lame. Il suo laboratorio è ancora lì, costruito intorno al forno grazie al quale, ormai da parecchi anni, Takeshi Saji forgia l'acciaio (soprattutto damasco) con cui realizza vari modelli di coltelli tradizionali giapponesi. La scelta dei materiali per le finiture (prevalentemente naturali), le linee essenziali - evocatrici dell'utilizzo - e gli accostamenti cromatici di raro impatto rendono le sue realizzazioni uniche e inconfondibili nel panorama della coltelleria mondiale e, in patria, gli sono valse il prestigioso titolo di Maestro.
