1990s vintage gentleman's knife, produced in Japan by the historic company G. SAKAI, with a long tradition in knife-making. Founded in 1958 as "Sakai Hamono", it has its roots in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, a region famous in Japan for producing knives and swords for over 700 years.

Quality and innovation: The company was known for combining Japanese craftsmanship with advanced technologies. It produced a wide range of knives, from hunting and bushcraft knives to kitchen knives, and was internationally recognized for its high overall quality and excellent sharpening.

G. Sakai collaborated with many knife brands worldwide and also produced licensed knives for other companies.

The production of the brand was subsequently acquired by Freidrich Olbertz in Solingen.

W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company è stata creata a inizio secolo, in un tempo in cui i coltelli tascabili erano indispensabili tanto quanto un orologio. Nel corso degli anni l'azienda si è affermata come una azienda leader nel lancio sul mercato di materiali nuovi e design innovativi.

Le radici dell'azienda risalgono al 1889, quando dei fratelli intraprendenti, William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John e Andrew, nella famiglia Case iniziarono a vendere coltelli artigianali dal retro di un furgone nella parte settentrionale dello stato di New York. All'inizio della prima guerra mondiale, il governo fece appello alla Case per la produzione di coltelli militari per i combattenti americani. Durante il volo della “Molly Brown” nel 1965, agli astronauti Gus Grissom e John Young utilizzarono coltelli Case speciali nella missione spaziale della NASA.  Case ha raccolto ammiratori famosi e avidi collezionisti come l'ex Presidente americano, Dwight D. Eisenhower e la star della musica country, Randy Travis.
