The NL3 model takes its name from Njord, the Norse god of fertility, sailors, and fishermen, a member of the Vanir clan and lord of the coasts and beaches. The Quebec series by Pohl Force is an iconic mission knife that remained at the top of the wish list of founder and designer Dietmar Pohl for several decades. In 2014, Pohl Force received exclusive permission from the original manufacturer to reinterpret the base design.

Originally developed as a Ground Forces Combat & General Purpose Weapon, this multi-purpose knife was designed for the United States Marine Corps in the early 1950s. Although never officially adopted, it clearly proved its capabilities during the Vietnam War, especially in the hands of U.S. special forces. Nearly 70 years after its first design, the modern Pohl Force Quebec Two perfectly combines classic old-school styling with high-tech modern manufacturing.

Designer Dietmar Pohl further revised the original concept, expanding the knife’s functional range. The blade of the Quebec Two is made from D2 tool steel instead of Sleipner, offering higher carbon and chromium content, significantly improving cutting performance and corrosion resistance. The blade has also been optimized with a cutting edge extended by 10 mm and an added false edge on the spine.

The Pohl Force Prepper System is integrated into the handle, allowing survival items to be securely stored inside. A tool for opening the handle screws is included. The advanced Pohl Force sheath system significantly enhances usability. The highly sophisticated sheath, made from 2.5 mm thick Kydex with belt adapter and leg strap, ensures excellent carrying comfort and versatility.

This special edition in 250 pieces, proposed on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the brand, maintains the shape of the original, but with materials and finishes corresponding to the current production.

The K1 is equipped with a modified spear point profile blade, characterized by a tip that combines the 40° "tanto" profile with the more traditional European one, creating a sharp but very solid hybrid which, with the false false edge, makes it particularly effective in jab. The bevel is high, allowing for a very effective cutting angle.

The blade is immediately recognizable by the fenestration at the heel, which allows for considerable lightening without compromising its strength. It is made of Böhler N690 steel, with heat treatments that bring its hardness to 58 HRC for the best combination of edge hold and resistance. The finish is satin with flat grinding.

The handle, in anodized Anticorodal alloy, compared to the original presents the lightening on the sides that make the Extrema Ratio knives immediately distinguishable, but maintains the arched shape and the lateral "bellies" of the K1, offering an excellent grip both in the "saber" than in the "reverse" grip.

The terminal part of the handle curves to form a sort of hook which allows particularly easy and rapid extraction from the scabbard, while the tang protrudes from it with a triangular cusp which acts as a glass breaker with a slot which allows the knife to be equipped of lasso.

The leather scabbard faithfully reproduces the original while maintaining both the qualities of ease and speed of extraction. The carry can take place in an upside-down axillary position, horizontally on the belt or tactically on the thigh.

The K1 equipment is completed with a polypropylene case ‌, complete leather sheath and underarm shoulder strap.

When I began teaching combat unfortunately I noticed that many teach the use of the knife in the wrong way. The knife is one of the most important tools for the man and his daily use is connected to my personal story, to my way of life, the principles learned from the teachings of my father and all the experience acquired as a teacher. So I decided to design this knife especially for my students, who have to learn that when they are alone in the woods must be able, with a single tool, to build their shelter, finding food and water, build a fire to know and meet all requirements needed to survive. My idea is with the knife KAPAP can survive and save lives in any place and at any time.
