The SOG Forge FG01-L is a knife of extraordinary beauty and build quality, combining Japanese craftsmanship with modern production techniques.

The blade, forged using a hammering technique, features a unique texture that is one-of-a-kind for each piece. It is made of San Mai steel, with a VG-10 cutting edge and 420J2 outer layers, a combination that ensures an excellent balance between sharpness, edge retention, and durability.

The glass-reinforced nylon (GRN) handle is designed with perfectly contoured inserts to provide optimal balance and a secure, comfortable grip. The knife is complemented by an elegant premium leather sheath, enhanced with a colored fabric insert and a button closure.

This replica of Major Von Tempsky's 6.5” Bowie knife is inspired by the design of the knife he created and assigned to his company of Forest Rangers in 1863.

Gustavus Ferdinand von Tempsky (1828-1868) was a German-born adventurer, soldier and artist, known for his role in the New Zealand Wars and for his leadership among the Forest Rangers. His adventurous life and courage made him a legendary figure, particularly in the context of battles between European settlers and Māori peoples.

He learned the advantages of Bowie knife fighting in California during his stint as a prospector, where he had acquired an excellent American-made knife; once he arrived in New Zealand and found himself in charge of Forest Ranger Company No. 2 with the rank of major, he had about 30 Bowie knives made for his men according to his personal design by a blacksmith in Shortland St. Auckland. The Forest Rangers were an elite corps of mounted scouts employed by the colonial government between August 1863 and October 1867 during the New Zealand Wars.

At the time, knives were made of wagon spring steel, one of the few steels available to blacksmiths in Auckland in 1863, and Von Tempsky, an experienced fighter, taught his men the use of the Bowie knife in hand-to-hand combat. The knife was used to defend against enemy blows while a pistol was usually held in the other hand.

In addition to combat, Bowie knives were used to open paths in the forest, dig defensive positions, cut firewood, and for general use while camping.

Inspired by the daggers with asymmetric blade and straight but oriented handle of the Arditi, from which the Regiment draws its vestiges, it has been reworked in a modern key. The center of gravity is strongly set back, the point particularly piercing. It is light, maneuverable and intuitive.

Every new raider gets one, every new raider is trained to use it to the fullest.

Inspired by daggers with asymmetric blade and straight handle but oriented Arditi, from which the Regiment traces its vestiges, it was reworked in a modern way.
The center of gravity is strong backlog, particularly the tip piercing. And 'light, handy and intuitive. Each new intruder receives one, and each new intruder is trained to use it.

All knives of this series have straight handles KRATON from ergonomic design whose shape and size favors besides a solid grip the rapid change of straight handle (Sabre Grip) to upside (Reverse Grip). An Allen screw stainless steel allows the campaign from disassembly for maintenance and lubrication of the through shank increasing the operational life of the knife.

The sheath and 'suitable all'aviolancio and underwater operations and amphibious and is' applicable to the belt or the accoutrements.

Designed by David Repossini, instructor of Krav-Maga with decades of experience in martial arts and combat systems in the military, was founded with the purpose of joining a blade with a survival for the fight, trying to be more effective than high knives already in business. The result is the model Outlander, a tool that can be picked up and handled in six major ways and making it adaptable to different contexts.

It is effective both for heavy work, such as cutting of a branch, is for precision work, such as making out to light the campfire. In combattimentoè well balanced, maneggevle and forms that make it effective is to strike or engage, and to achieve the most sensitive parts in extension.
