ExtremaRatio - Estrema Axe - Dark Stone N690Co & Black G-10 - Emergency Breaching Tool
The axe has spanned history as a symbol of power, versatility, and innovation. From work tool to fearsome combat weapon, its evolution has accompanied ancient and modern civilizations.
Today, Extrema Ratio pays tribute to this tradition with Estrema, a tactical axe developed for the G.O.I. (Naval Operational Incursors Group), which blends state-of-the-art materials and functional design to meet the most extreme challenges.

Blade length: 80mm.
Blade thickness: 6.3mm.
Total length: 374mm.
Balance: advanced
Weight: 777g.
Sheath: kydex, MOLLE compatible
Packaging: technical, airtight, polymer case
Notes: -Millennial heritage, modern innovation.
From the earliest times, the axe has embodied a duality between work tool and combat tool, evolving over the years to become a symbol of power and versatility. Its use as a work tool dates back to 6,000 B.C., while the earliest documented war use is between 700 and 600 B.C. during Etruscan times, as certified by the Auvele Felùske stele at Vetulonia.
Throughout the world, from Europe to Ancient Egypt to the Far East, the battle axe has been distinguished by its immediate effectiveness in combat, requiring less complex training than other tools but providing decisive performance in close quarters situations. EXTREMA RATIO, an official supplier to the Comsubin, reinterprets this age-old tradition with ESTREMA, a tactical battle axe developed for the G.O.I. (Naval Operational Incursors Group).
With a state-of-the-art design, ESTREMA combines the strength and speed of the historic weapon with technological innovation, offering a versatile and reliable tool for the most demanding missions. Suitable as both a tactical combat tool and a breacher tool, ESTREMA is designed to meet any challenge. The name “ESTREMA” expresses the nature of this model: our most extreme product, the result of our boldest manufacturing experience.
ESTREMA is made of Böhler N690 steel with 54 HRC hardness and dark stone finish. The G10 material handle offers two modes of use: grasping the end section of the handle provides the traditional grip, while a narrower grip encourages close use. The tang, in its end section, can be used as a burglary tool and for cutting and opening metal sheets. In addition, the tapering allows the axe to be used as a lever or crowbar.
ESTREMA can be equipped with a hammer (hammering mass) made of hardened and tempered carbon steel, which engages and disengages from the axe's pike via a snap mechanism with a safety catch to prevent accidental disengagement. This solution, the first of its kind applied in this context, makes the axe even more versatile. The rear hammer is an optional accessory that can be purchased separately.
ESTREMA comes in an innovatively designed airtight technical case, inside of which is also a Kydex sheath and belt clip.
The Kydex sheath, which is ambidextrous, is designed to offer different carrying modes and provide numerous interface options with the operator's equipment. It can be clipped to the belt using the belt clip included in the case, or attached to any MOLLE-equipped platform using a paracord lanyard. Axe retention is ensured by the natural conformation and elasticity of Kydex, supported by a lanyard secured with snaps.

Wander Tactical - Scrambler knife - SanMai V-Toku2 & Black Micarta - custom knife
In collaboration with Wander Tactical we have decided to propose the Scrambler model, in an exclusive satin-blade version that uses the famous Japanese San Mai steel produced by Takefu Steel.
This time, in the rich catalog of products they offer, we have chosen a particular steel with a carbonaceous edge, but with external stainless steel cheeks. Specifically we used, for the central plate, the carbonaceous V-Toku2 at 62 / 63HRC and the SUS410 for the external lamination in order to guarantee a very high cutting capacity, penetration and sealing of the wire together with an ease of re-sharpening and maintenance; at the same time the blade has a remarkable resistance to corrosion and an important increase in resilience given by the laminated structure.

Notes: unique and exclusive pieceAs in the ancient Japanese Samurai swords.
The rolled steel - imported into Italy by Collini Steel directly from the Japanese Takefu Steel - is based on the ancient Japanese tradition in the creation of the famous Samurai swords. In fact, as early as 1100 the expert Japanese blacksmiths combined different materials together to give the Katana swords incredible cutting abilities combined with a resistance and flexibility previously unknown. It is thanks to this revolutionary construction technique that Samurai swords have been preserved to this day, becoming one of the most fascinating objects made by man. Following this tradition applied to modern metallurgy, today we are able to have technologically advanced steels already tested and used in cutlery also by famous brands such as Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, etc.
Characteristics of San Mai steel: These are different types of metals bonded together to create a composite that encloses and intensifies the strengths of the metals individually taken:
- Longer tool life
thanks to the use of very high quality steels with high carbon content (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered (SPG2), in the heart of the sheet (Core Steel), the blade, once hardened, achieves decidedly hardness and cutting performance higher than those achieved with the use of traditional steels.
- Greater resilience
built on the principle of Japanese swords, multilayer steel is difficult to break thanks to the toughness of the central steel (Core Steel) and the elasticity of the steel used for the side facing (Stainless Steel).- Better corrosion resistance
the steel used for the external layers (Stainless Steel) guarantees the blade a high resistance to corrosion. The combination of the two or more materials used by Takefu Steel generates, on a galvanic level, a structure that improves corrosion resistance even on the wire.- Easy processing even after heat treatment
although the steel normally becomes harder after hardening, the side steel used in multilayer processing does not lose its softness and allows easy processing, drilling or welding even after heat treatment. For an optimal performance of the blade, cryogenic treatment is recommended.- Improvement of the aesthetic result
The knives made with multi-state steel or with a damask pattern at the end of the processing are aesthetically elegant, refined and highly appreciated by collectors all over the world. For more information: collinisteel
