The blade is made of UHC (Ultra High Carbon) steel and the handle is made of heat-treated curly birch, coated with linseed oil, which ensures a firm grip, even when wet. The UHC steel gives the knife a very long edge life - please note that the hard UHC steel is not suitable for penetrating bone or other hard materials.
