The SOG Forge FG01-L is a knife of extraordinary beauty and build quality, combining Japanese craftsmanship with modern production techniques.

The blade, forged using a hammering technique, features a unique texture that is one-of-a-kind for each piece. It is made of San Mai steel, with a VG-10 cutting edge and 420J2 outer layers, a combination that ensures an excellent balance between sharpness, edge retention, and durability.

The glass-reinforced nylon (GRN) handle is designed with perfectly contoured inserts to provide optimal balance and a secure, comfortable grip. The knife is complemented by an elegant premium leather sheath, enhanced with a colored fabric insert and a button closure.

“Expat” is a real person. An instructor, adventurer, world traveler and many other things mixed together. While working in some of the most dangerous areas of South America, Expat contacted ESEE seeking jungle survival training in extreme scenarios. Thus began a close partnership that has now lasted for more than 15 years.

Expat has traveled thousands of miles around the Third World, sometimes with the ESEE team, but always with ESEE products. From armored caravans in Colombia and expeditions to the Himalayas, to earthquakes in El Salvador and hunting in the Balkans, ESEE knives have been a constant companion. He has been a student, translator and instructor for Randall's Adventure Training. During his time abroad, he developed unique insights into tools and adventures and is currently working with ESEE to bring these designs and experiences to others.
