  1. Fallkniven - Taiga knife SK2L - SanMai CoS Steel - ironwood - knife

The taiga knives are distinctive hunting and all-round knives for the demanding user. A strong blade in laminated cobalt steel does not only mean a stable function, you notice quite quickly that the edge holds the sharpness really well without being brittle. The reason is the fine, well heat treated and tempered steel but also the convex shaped edge that is not only strong but also wood-sharp. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides a secure grip regardless of weather and wind.

As shown in the design, TH1 is a handmade knife with a handle in the very exclusive desert ironwood (lat. Olneya tesota). This species is not listed in CITES Annexes or the IUCN Red List of Endangered Species and is therefore legal to use. Like all natural materials, it varies in texture and color, making each knife an individual creation. A beautifully veined pattern may look attractive but a straight, patterned handle is actually stronger. Desert ironwood, which grows in the southwestern United States, has a somewhat peculiar quality – it is heavier than water, its density is 1.2 kg/dm³ which means it will sink. If you want to maintain or even increase the luster in the wood, treat it with log oil, furniture oil, bench oil or other type of wood oil containing linseed oil. The fact that the blade goes full width through the handle (so-called full tang blade) results in a very strong and reliable construction and gives a comfortable weight to the knife.

  7. Boker Plus - Overnighter - Dual Tone D2 & Briar Wood - 02BP0025 - Knife

In the darkness of the wilderness, night sharpens the senses: sounds become clearer, shadows deeper, and even the air seems charged with scents and sensations. It is precisely this connection with the natural environment and this heightened state of awareness that custom knife maker Florian Prößl (FP Knives) has captured in the Boker Plus Overnighter.

Designed as a reliable companion for bushcraft, this fixed-blade knife features a sturdy, wear-resistant D2 steel Clippoint blade with a bold, functional two-tone finish. The full-tang construction ensures maximum stability during demanding tasks such as cutting, carving, or batoning, making it an ideal tool for firewood preparation and outdoor activities.

The ergonomic handle scales are made of natural, light brown burl wood and securely fastened to the tang. This ensures a comfortable and secure grip in all conditions, while giving each knife a unique appearance thanks to the natural grain of the wood.

The “Tre Kronor” line blends the latest martensitic technologies with the ancient roots of the Swedish royal family. In fact, these knives are the only ones that bear the royal symbol of the three crowns on the blade and on the beautiful wooden box that contains the knife and sheath.

The laminated steel used is currently one of the finest industrial steels on the market and consists of an inner layer of 62HRC powder-molded SGPS paired with two outer layers of VG2. The knives thus exhibit exceptional cutting performance, penetration, and edge retention.

  17. Takeshi Saji - Miyabi Kenryu - Coltello Artigianale
