Whether for the cozy warmth of your fireplace at home or a campfire in front of your tent, the practical Boker Plus Appalachian Origin Mini Axe is a compact and versatile tool that is indispensable for camping and home use.

Like the other models in the series, the axe head is made of 1055 carbon steel with a Rhenish shape. However, there are three fundamental differences: while the Small and Big models have a robust, universal sharpening, the Origin Mini axe blade has a polished sharpening that also allows for practical carving work, such as engraving sticks. In addition, the axe head is left with a forged surface. Finally, long-fiber ash wood is used for the handle, which, unlike hickory, transmits less vibration to the hand holding the axe.

In the days when domestic stoves were still wood-fired, this type of axe was used to chop small pieces of firewood, which were also needed for outdoor cooking.

The best American long-fiber walnut, far superior to European ash for breaking elasticity and impact resistance, was used for the handles. The handles are attached to the head with wooden wedge and steel sleeve. The two models Appalachian Big and Appalchian Small differ in the length of the handles.
