Spartan Blades - Talos Liner Lock knife - Black - Harsey Design - SFBL7BK - kitchen knife
The TALOS Folder is a lightweight folding knife with a liner lock, designed by our friend and collaborator William W. Harsey Jr. Its slim and lightweight design makes it the perfect companion for everyday carry and daily tasks. Despite its small size, thanks to its thoughtful design, high-quality CTS-XHP blade, and deep pocket clip, it handles most daily tasks with ease. Whether you're wading through a trout-rich stream or on your way to work, this little knife is ideal.
All our Bronze (Field) grade folding knives incorporate our new "Oil Infused Bronze Bearing System" or "OIBBS". Our sintered bronze bearings are oil-infused, thus reducing friction on the blade, giving you a tight but smooth blade opening. This system is particularly useful for slow speeds, intermittent use, and irregular loads like those found on folding knives.

Spartan Blades - Spartan-Ka-Bar - FDE MagnaCut & Leather - SB54DEBKLTBK - knife
On December 9, 1942, during the Second World War, KA-BAR presented a knife to the United States Marine Corps hoping it would become the standard weapon. In collaboration with the Marine Supply Department, the project was revised, and production began on an improved combat and utility knife.
During the war, USMC KA-BAR knives gained such recognition for their quality and abundance that "KABAR" became the common name. It was adopted by the Marines, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Underwater Demolition Teams. Years later, many KA-BAR knives were reactivated in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In 2019, KA-Bar partnered with Spartan Blades to form Pineland Cutlery. CEO John Stitt aimed to create a "KA-BAR" with improved strength, robustness, and corrosion resistance. During development, metallurgist Larrin Thomas identified CPM MagnaCut® steel with the desired qualities.
CPM MagnaCut® is a sintered high-carbon steel produced by Crucible Industries and specifically designed for blades. Spartan Blades developed the Spartan-KA-BAR using CNC machining, cryogenic treatment, and PVD coatings.
Intended Use: Tactical / Military
Production Type: Industrial
Country of Production: USA
Blade: CPM MagnaCut steel 61/63HRC
Blade Finish: ZrN Flat Dark Earth
Handle: Kraton G with stainless steel 301 guard and tungsten DLC treatment
Blade Length: 178mm.
Blade Thickness: 4.2mm.
Total Length: 305mm.
Weight: 306g.
Sheath: Black leather
Packaging: Cardboard box with Spartan Blades logos
Notes: Please note that the Flat Dark Earth (FDE) coated blade, when inserted or removed from the leather sheath, may show streaks or stains due to the dye used for the sheath. The blade can be cleaned with petroleum or acetone, re-oiled (e.g., with WD40 or light mechanical oil), and dried with a clean cloth to restore the original coating finish.SB54DEBKLTBK -

Spartan Blades - Harsey TT - Kydex, Flat Dark Earth and Camo Micarta - SB43DECMKYTN - knife
The Harsey TT (Tactical Trout) is designed to be a very comfortable and sturdy medium-sized knife for most field tasks and defensive use. The size of the TT makes it easy to carry and handle.
The blade profile provides a clean cut with excellent tip strength. The full tang and handle of the Harsey TT provide neutral balance in the user's hand. The ergonomically shaped, linen Micarta handle provides a comfortable and secure grip when dry or wet. The pommel has a lanyard hole in the center of the angled tip. The TT is an excellent universal fixed blade, well balanced in size, function and feel. In our opinion, one of William Harsey's best designs.

Coltelli - Numero 62 - Febbraio/Marzo 2014 - rivista
Rivista a colori Bimestrale prodotta e distribuita in Italia specializzata in coltelli di tutti i tipi (collezione, artigianali, militari, sportivi, multiuso…). 82 Pagine

Coltelli - Numero 58 - Giugno/Luglio 2013 - rivista
Rivista a colori Bimestrale prodotta e distribuita in Italia specializzata in coltelli di tutti i tipi (collezione, artigianali, militari, sportivi, multiuso…). 96 Pagine
Coltelli - Numero 57 - Aprile/Maggio 2013 - rivista
Rivista a colori Bimestrale prodotta e distribuita in Italia specializzata in coltelli di tutti i tipi (collezione, artigianali, militari, sportivi, multiuso…). 96 Pagine
Per quanto riguarda gli eventi, vi parleremo dell’East Cost Custom Show, svoltosi a marzo a New York. Buona fortuna e… buona lettura!coltelli57 -

Spartan Blades - Spartan-Ka-Bar - DLC MagnaCut & Black Kydex - SB54BKBKKYBK - knife
On December 9, 1942, during the Second World War, KA-BAR presented a knife to the United States Marine Corps in the hope of it becoming the standard weapon. In collaboration with the Marine Supply Department, the project was revised and the production of an improved combat and utility knife began.
During the war, USMC KA-BAR knives became so renowned for their quality and abundance that "KABAR" became the common name. It was adopted by the Marines, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Underwater Demolition Teams. Years later, many KA-BAR knives were reactivated in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In 2019, KA-Bar joined forces with Spartan Blades to establish Pineland Cutlery. CEO John Stitt aimed to create a "KA-BAR" with enhanced strength, robustness, and corrosion resistance. During development, metallurgist Larrin Thomas identified CPM MagnaCut® steel with the desired qualities.
CPM MagnaCut® is a sintered high-carbon steel produced by Crucible Industries and specially designed for blades. Spartan Blades developed the Spartan-KA-BAR using CNC machining, cryogenic treatment, and PVD coatings.

Spartan Blades - Spartan-Harsey Nessmuk - SBSL005BK - Knife
Produced in Olean, NY, in collaboration with the skilled people at KA-BAR knives, the design of the Spartan-Harsey Nessmuk is based on a classic American concept popularized by George Washington Sears (1821-1890) and the more moderate ergonomic designs of William W. Harsey Jr.
Under the guidance of a Native American from the Narragansett tribe named Nessmuk, George Washington Sears embraced the natural world, learning survival skills. Sears adopted "Nessmuk," meaning "wood duck," as his pseudonym, reflecting his love for forest life. Writing as "Nessmuk," he contributed to Forest and Stream magazine in the 1880s, promoting canoeing, the Adirondack lakes, and environmentalism.
Sears' diverse experiences led to his writings on the wonders of nature and conservation. He advocated minimalism: lighting fires, setting up tents, and more. He emphasized respect for nature, leading to a call for conservation.
Sears authored "Woodcraft" (1884), offering practical advice and introspection. The "Log of the Bucktail" series and poetry followed. Illness couldn't weaken his love for nature. He passed away in 1890, with Nessmuk's legacy enduring in Wellsboro.
A supporter of thin and sharp knives, Sears' ideals are reflected in our Nessmuk design.

Spartan Blades - Spartan-Harsey Kukri - SBSL007BK - Knife
Produced in Olean, NY, in collaboration with the skilled people at KA-BAR knives, the Spartan-Harsey Kukri knife has been designed to be a highly durable hiking knife. The kukri features a blade of over 22cm, making it an all-around tool due to its center of mass, allowing the user to slice while cutting to even penetrate thick objects.
While this blade is primarily famous for its military use, the kukri is more commonly employed as a multi-purpose tool in fields and homes across Nepal. Its uses range from construction, clearing, cutting firewood, digging, butchering animals for food, slicing meat and vegetables, skinning animals, to opening cans.
It can function as a smaller knife using the narrower part of the blade closer to the handle. The heavier and wider end of the blade, towards the tip, functions as a hatchet or a small shovel.

Spartan Blades - Harsey Difensa - Kydex, DLC Flat Black and Black Micarta - SB19BKBKKYBK - knife
In 1943 a battle was fought between the U.S. and Canadian First Special Service Force and German troops in Italy. Known as the Battle of Monte la Difensa, the courageous performance of the U.S. and Canadian forces on this occasion was essential to the final Allied victory in Italy.
When Canadian Special Forces commissioned Spartan Blades and master cutler William Harsey to produce a blade for them, we knew we wanted to create something special. Our goal was to create a knife that would serve the Special Forces for years to come, both in the northern woods of their homeland and in missions around the world. The result was the Spartan Harsey Difensa, named after the infamous and hard-fought victory achieved through cooperation between Canadian and U.S. forces.
The name refers to the excellent use of this custom tactical knife in the field and on the battlefield. The spearhead profile of this handcrafted knife is flat, with a tapered top edge that provides excellent tip strength, balanced penetration, and cutting power.
The full tang and handle of the Spartan Harsey Difensa allow for neutral balance in the user's hand. Combined with the ergonomic Micarta canvas handle, modified from our Model II, with no rear joints, this custom combat knife provides the griper with a comfortable and secure grip in both dry and wet conditions.
After more than 40 years of service in the U.S. Army Special Forces, Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey founded Spartan Blades LLC in North Carolina. Curtis, who had already been designing and drawing knives for his friends in the Special Forces for years, and Mark, who had always been involved in military and tactical equipment when he served in the "Green Berets," decide to combine their skills and passion with the goal of building innovative and functional knives using the highest quality materials and made entirely in the United States.
