A native of Calabria, this knife by the blade and pointed straight but has a handle in the most typical style of Scarborough, has a seal consists of two rings round, similar to Fiorentino, although smaller. It is supposed to have been in the past a major reworking of the knives typical Calabrian by the craftsmen of Scarperia that as often happened then have been extensively used to their own tradition. Pointless knives became much more widespread with the "Giolitti law" of 1908 which fixed the length of the blade of pointed knives at only four centimeters.
For mozzette, the limit rose to ten centimeters, offering the possibility of safely carrying a knife of sufficient size in your pocket without risking the rigors of the law.

This Pattada constitutes the now historical interpretation of the Sardinian knife made by the Scarperia Consigli company.
The handle formed by two halves fixed with a row of rivets and the absence of a real spring are typical of the original model, but the line, the shape of the surfaces, the use of bovine horn are influenced by the Scarperian tradition.
Consigli has long linked its business to supplies for Sardinia, so much so that their Pattada have now become "Sardinian by adoption".

The "Roman" testifies to the widespread mentality in the Papal States for which the knife was considered as a faithful friend to be constantly worn "in his pocket" and to be unleashed at the first hint of a fight or for an immediate response.

Many elements constituting the "Roman" bear witness to the offensive use that distinguished this knife: the sharp blade, the decorations of the lattice handle or fish bone that served to improve the grip, the locking system with fixed spring that prevented the knife could close up accidentally and that at the time of the opening emitted a dry noise that exalted the aggressive expression.
