The two were immediate pioneers in the knife world, being the first company to launch an assisted-opening knife. Today Meyerco is credited with the invention of the spring-loaded knife. - Blackie Collins holds over 60 patents for knife mechanisms and many design patents for cutlery products. The Extrema Ratio Frame Rock is a new knife, based on the Ti-Rock project, a successful frame-lock knife made by Extrema Ratio in 2016 exclusively for Coltelleria Collini.

The Extreme Ratio Frame Rock is characterized by a titanium handle that offers great resistance while being very light. The integrity of the frame-lock system is guaranteed against wear by an easily replaceable hardened steel insert.

Unlike its drop-point predecessor, the Rock frame has a 75mm long, 6.0mm thick spearpoint blade fitted with a fuller for further lightening. The blade is made of Bohler N690 steel, heat treated to a hardness of 58 HRC. The same is available with a black finish with DLC treatment or satin.

To make opening even more fluid and without uncertainty, the blade rotates on ball bearings. This mechanism allows the user to adjust the force necessary to obtain the release of the blade from the closed position.

The shape of the reversible clip allows a hidden port in the pocket, making the knife not visible from the outside. The large and solid handle and the well-proportioned blade allow this knife to tackle heavy tasks. The Frame Rock weighs less than 200g, making it somewhat light for such a sturdy knife. Comes inside an ABS box.

The steel blade is the proven BOHLER N690, a steel enriched with chrome, vanadium, molybdenum and cobalt, hardened to the hardness of 58HRC. The handle is made of Forprene, an elastomer that is in the "NATO standard" for resistance to extreme conditions, and is completely removable from the blade; this makes possible a thorough cleaning and maintenance of the knife.

Sector 1 is a new table knife that Extrema Ratio has designed for everyday use, the handle engineering plastics military specification contains a blade made of pure Extrema Ratio durable style, ergonomic and extremely effective. Available individually in a cardboard box or in a cardboard special case of six pieces.
