The new Gold Class 491BK-261 Lowden represents the most exclusive iteration of the Lowden platform. A high-performance knife that pays homage to the great achievements of American aeronautics in the space age, combining sophisticated design, advanced technologies, and craftsmanship of the highest caliber.
Built on a 6Al-4V titanium frame with a black DLC finish, it is enhanced by marbled carbon fiber inserts, which add depth and movement to the structure. The gold-plated steel bolster introduces an elegant and distinctive contrast, inspired by the canopy of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
The spear-point blade is crafted from exclusive Drakkar Damasteel, a 72-layer Damascus steel that reveals its complexity through the bevel’s finish and a deep acid etching, which highlights a fluid and dynamic pattern. The result is a cohesive ensemble of premium materials and finishes. The 72-layer Damasteel offers a rich, layered visual depth, while the DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating combines protection with a technical aesthetic.
From a mechanical standpoint, the Lowden platform stands out for its fluidity and precision. The ball-bearing-mounted flipper opening mechanism ensures rapid and controlled movement, while the AXIS Lock system provides a secure closure and a solid, consistent feel during use.
