Knife maker Christoph Gihring of Forge Works, based in Freiburg im Breisgau, takes a break from the iconic atmosphere of the Black Forest—complete with Bollenhuts, cherry pie, and cuckoo clocks—to focus on the timeless Böker Plus Sentinal.

This everyday carry (EDC) fixed-blade knife stands out for its clip-point blade made of Swedish 14C28N steel, which offers excellent edge retention and outstanding corrosion resistance. The “smoky” stonewash finish minimizes scratches and signs of wear, keeping the knife looking sharp at all times. The robust full-tang construction, with a through-tang, ensures maximum reliability for everyday tasks such as opening boxes, carving wood, or cutting rope.

The lightweight black G10 scales ensure a secure grip even in wet or cold conditions. The textured surface improves control, while the screw-on attachment allows for easy removal for cleaning. Purists can even transform the Sentinel into an essential skeleton knife.
