The Temperance 2 is Spyderco's answer to the need for a medium-sized fixed blade knife for heavy-duty use. A pollywog represents metamorphosis in the animal kingdom, adapting and changing its form to survive in its environment. The same principle applies here. The Spyderco Poliwog CLIPIT® thrives in a small-knife-friendly environment while keeping the features necessary to excel in a harsh, heavy cutting and performance setting. Its distinctive opened-ended Ball Bearing Lock™ exposes the knife's inner workings for easy cleaning and rates as one of Spyderco's highest strength locking mechanisms. Pulling back on the ball unlocks the blade ambidextrously from either side of the knife.

The hand settles on the curved handle positioning the index finger into a choil that optimizes control and generates less fatigue and pressure on the hand during cutting. Company History.
In 1938, Rudy Ruana began making knives in a small store in Montana. Members of his family continue to this day to handcraft Ruana knives in the same store. In 1964 Ruana's son-in-law, Vic Hangas, left a job with a telephone company and put his artistic talents to good use, joining Ruana in the business. Hangas' son Mark began working in the business in 1976. In 1983, Ruana retired at the age of 80 and sold the business to the Hangas family. In 1984 Mike Hangas joined his brother and father and the company was incorporated. Rudy Ruana died in April 1986. He was honored with posthumous induction into the American Bladesmith Society's Hall of Fame in 1997 and Blade magazine's Cutlery Hall of Fame in 2002.

Ruana knives are still handmade in the small Montana store where Rudy Ruana began forging blades more than 80 years ago. In an era of outsourcing and diminishing Made in America products, Ruana knives are still handmade in the United States, with a focus on quality rather than quantity. Although some things have changed over the years, still using the same methods and much of the same equipment used by Rudy Ruana.

The STA Sniper blade was designed for a USMC scout/sniper and STA training group instructor in Phoenix, Arizona. Medford wanted to offer something completely unique to the Sniper's craft and his particular needs.

A clever design that utilises the integration of innovative tools with classic knife elements for a perfect blend of form and function. The 1/2" spanner in the handle fits almost any scope mounting system ring, the hilt screwdriver adjusts to turret adjustments, the measuring marks on the back are extremely convenient for both scouting and sniping, and the LTRE (Look Through Range Estimator) can significantly improve sight distance estimation up to 400 metres. The blade is extremely robust for field work and the compact size allows easy placement in any kit/equipment.
