The Extrema Ratio RAO C is a compact folding knife derived from the iconic RAO II.

Thanks to its design, the RAO C is a tool that, despite its small size, manages to guarantee the same robustness and reliability as its larger counterpart while offering improved portability and handling.

The handle consists of two finely crafted anodized aluminum scales, to which Extrema Ratio applies a hard-anodizing treatment, making the handle more resistant to wear and corrosion.

Two steel frames help increase the handle’s sturdiness to withstand the most demanding uses.

The opening lock mechanism is particularly durable, as it is supplemented by a safety system that transforms it into a true fixed blade. The primary safety on the blade is activated by lifting and lowering the locking pin. To ensure maximum safety for the user, a practical and quick secondary safety has been added, which can be activated simply by moving the locking pin horizontally.

The reversible clip is designed to allow for concealed carry in a pocket, making the knife invisible from the outside.

The blade is made of Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC, with the classic Extrema Ratio MIL-C-13924 black finish.

To lighten the steel frames, a laser-cut template based on the RAO C profile was created, which was then used to make a gadget included with the knife.

The M1A1 model is Extrema Ratio's personal interpretation, created to pay homage to the historic folding knife used by the Italian Army.

During World War II, the original knife was part of the British Army's equipment. At the end of the war, thanks to the “Marshall Plan” for European recovery, the Italian Army received some of the weapons and equipment supplied to the Allies during the war, including this multifunctional tool. It was later reproduced in Italy in three modified versions.

Extrema Ratio, to bid farewell to this historic and renowned knife, presents a final exclusive version, limited to only 130 pieces.

Like its predecessor, the M1A1 LAST CALL is equipped with a can opener, bottle opener, screwdriver, and knot-tying peg. The reversible clip is designed for maximum concealability.

The drop blade, like all the other tools listed above, features Geotech Camo customization, Extrema Ratio's innovative and original camouflage pattern, created using laser engraving.

The locking mechanism used is the tried and tested LINER LOCK. The handle consists of two anticorodal aluminum scales anodized in the brand new Tactical Mud color.

Directly derived from military specifications, this folding knife is designed to replace a fixed blade in the most demanding operational situations. To ensure maximum reliability, extremely robust materials, increased thicknesses, and a solid and secure back lock opening/closing system have been used.

A manual safety lock ensures maximum protection during use, drastically reducing the risk of accidental closure. When inserted in the closed position, it also prevents the knife from being immediately used against the operator in the event of theft.

Materials and workmanship
All components are machined from solid blocks using high-precision CNC machines, while assembly, adjustment, and sharpening are carried out by hand. The blade is made of N690 cobalt stainless steel, known for its high mechanical strength, great cutting ability, edge retention, and excellent corrosion resistance. It has a flat grind and a hardness of 58 HRC.

The scales are made of Anticorodal, an aluminum alloy that is highly resistant to stress and oxidation. The tang, made of hardened N690, acts as an effective emergency glass breaker. Screws, pins, and clips are made of burnished stainless steel, while the blade, lever, and tang are protected by Testudo treatment, which is highly resistant to abrasion and oxidation. The scales are black anodized.

Japanese steel meets Italian excellence

For this 2020 collaboration, exclusively for Coltelleria Collini, we decided to offer a series of best sellers produced by Extrema Ratio. These knives are made using the renowned San Mai steel produced by Japan’s Takefu Steel. Specifically, we used carbon-rich V-Toku2 at 62/63HRC for the central core and stainless SUS410 for the outer layers, resulting in superior cutting performance, penetration, edge retention, ease of sharpening, and at the same time excellent corrosion resistance and increased resilience due to the laminated structure.

Model Col Moschin Compact: this First Production Run was limited to 15 numbered units, from 1 to 15.

The lethal efficiency of the COL MOSCHIN knife, now in compact version. Comes with a rigid belt sheath and BELT-CLIP. The sheath can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or at a 45° angle.

The laminated steel – imported into Italy by Collini Steel directly from Japan’s Takefu Steel – is based on the age-old Japanese sword-making tradition. As early as the 1100s, Japanese blacksmiths were combining different metals to craft Katana swords with extraordinary cutting power, resistance, and flexibility. This revolutionary technique allowed Samurai swords to survive through centuries and become among the most fascinating human-made artifacts. Applied to modern metallurgy, this tradition now yields advanced steels already used in knife-making by brands like Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, etc.

San Mai Steel Features: A combination of different metals bonded together to create a composite with amplified properties:

- Greater edge retention
Thanks to high-carbon premium steels (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or powder steels (SPG2) in the core, once hardened, the blade achieves cutting performance far superior to traditional steels.

- Higher resilience
Based on Japanese sword construction, the multi-layer steel is highly resistant to breaking due to the toughness of the core and flexibility of the stainless cladding.

- Improved corrosion resistance

The “Extrema Ratio Sethlans” is a fixed blade utility knife designed to handle a wide range of situations, suitable for survival, bushcraft, prepping, but also as a backup blade. The Sethlans is available in two versions with two different types of steel.

The Black version uses D2 steel, heat and cryogenically treated to 60 HRC, which has a high regrindability even with makeshift tools. To give greater hardness and resistance, the blade is coated with the new Teflon-based product “EXP DARK” offered by Extrema Ratio.

The knife comes with G10 scales featuring the ergonomic design characteristic of Extrema Ratio handles. They can be removed to reveal the skeletonized structure of the knife, which allows for maximum lightness with minimum thickness. For lovers of extreme customization, the full-tang structure allows the handle to be coated with paracord.

The sheath is made of a lightweight, minimalist Kydex. It can be disassembled and adapted for both left- and right-handed users. The addition of an optional belt clip allows the knife to be positioned either vertically or horizontally and makes the sheath much more versatile than the textile version. It also comes with a mini pouch with a M.O.L.L.E. system containing a double-sided sharpening stone and a firesteel for lighting fires.

Satre is a small, lightweight and extremely durable fixed-blade knife. Given its characteristics, it finds use in a wide range of disciplines and uses ranging from survival activities, bushcraft or as an element of an EDC (Every Day Carry) kit.

It was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, Master Advanced F.I.S.S. (Italian Federation of Sport and Experimental Survival) instructor.

In Neck Knife mode, through the use of a 550 paracord lanyard, it can be held around the neck while keeping the knife upright with the handle facing down. Metal eyelets on the sheath made of pre-shaped Kydex allow for the attachment of both the lanyard and accessory holder.

The Black S600 version uses Böhler S600 steel. This steel is used in industrial manufacturing to make metalworking tools and in mold making.

Satre S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus achieving an exceptional hardness of as much as 64 HRC. This gives it great wear resistance and the ability to guarantee a long edge cutting edge.

Commissioned and officially adopted in 2002 by the well-known 9th Incursor Rgt. “Col Moschin”, this model expresses the quintessence of the pure combat knife.

Inspired by the daggers with asymmetric blade and straight but oriented handle of the Arditi, from which the Regiment draws its vestiges, it has been reworked in a modern key. The center of gravity is strongly set back, the point particularly piercing. It is light, maneuverable and intuitive.

MF stands for Medium Folder. This line of knives fits in between the Basic Folders series and the Heavy Folders series. The typical mechanism of the series is the LINER-LOCK. The overall structure is sturdy.

All knives in the MF series have a rear glass breaker. They also feature the innovation of the adjusting counterscrew at the blade attachment stud. By removing the counterscrew, the center pin can be tightened or loosened at will, so as to achieve the desired smoothness of opening. It will be sufficient to re-lock the pivot screw with the counterscrew to secure the adjustment.

The BC (Belt Cutter) version features the rear belt cutter with an easily available and replaceable industrial cutter blade. In addition, a slotted screwdriver is inserted inside the grip to allow adjustment and calibration of firearm optics.

The Bark River Bushcrafter II is designed to be the ultimate bushcraft knife. The name itself is no accident: careful research has led to an exceptional result that is appreciated by enthusiasts in the field. The blade has an ideal shape for bushcraft activities, while the handle offers excellent ergonomics. Compared to the standard model, the Bushcrafter II is slightly larger, with a blade over an inch longer.

Made of CPM 3V steel, the blade is extremely durable and retains its sharpness for a long time. However, it is not completely stainless, so it should be cleaned after use and occasionally oiled to prevent corrosion. The edge has a convex bevel, which is easy to maintain by sanding.

The handle is made of fine desert ironwood burl, a hardwood from the U.S. and Mexico, featuring an elegant grain that gives the knife a luxurious look. The leather sheath allows for both vertical (belts up to 2 inches) and diagonal carry.

The Forprene handle with threaded tang lock makes the knife solid and well-balanced.
