Notes: Discontinued model, item code 112062, also identified by the names Stellar and Stellar Super Liner. Specimen from a private collection.
The Stellar belongs to an earlier generation of Boker folding knives characterised by the use of titanium and a design with rounded shapes. The geometric machining of the handle makes its aesthetic character immediately recognisable, while the 440C blade and liner lock represent solutions typical of technical cutlery from that period.BO-112062AP -
Buck - 184 Buckmaster - 1986 Vintage Iconic Knife - PRIVATE COLLECTION - knife
KNIFE PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED, FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION
* Provenance: Acquired from a private individual, previously purchased
* Condition: Overall in excellent condition; shows no signs of actual use. It comes with an additional nylon pocket with Velcro that contains the original vintage oil-lubricated compass.
* Commercial availability: Discontinued

* Box: -
* Sheath: Present, in excellent condition, with an additional nylon pocket containing the original period oil-filled compass

The most distinctive—and patented—feature of the Buckmaster Buck 184 is the presence of two removable, screw-mounted harpoons, or hooks. Their primary function is to provide an anchor point: the knife can, in fact, be used as a sort of throwing hook by attaching a rope to the ring on the pommel. The manufacturer claimed the grappling hooks had a holding capacity of up to 600 pounds.In the case of the Navy SEALs, the requirement was for a knife that could also be used underwater and, if necessary, allow for the anchoring of equipment or vehicles to a submerged anchor point. This specific requirement contributed to the choice of an all-steel construction, designed to offer strength and durability even under harsh underwater operating conditions.
Intended Use: Sports / Collectible
Production Type: Industrial
Country of Manufacture: USA
Blade: Knife made entirely of 425M stainless steel
Blade Finish: Satin
Handle: Hollow, stainless steel, with rear screw plug

Overall length: 315 mm.

Notes: Design by Brad Zinker
While we've seen plenty of Boker products over the years, resourceful knife makers continue to find ways to surprise us. For example, Brad Zinker from Florida with his Urban Trapper, one of the thinnest profile titanium framelocks we've ever experienced. With just 8mm grip thickness (without clip), the term "slim" only inadequately describes the Urban Trapper for its usable size.The large holes and titanium transform the Urban Trapper into a real featherweight of just 48 g that can be carried extremely comfortably both in a suit pocket and in light summer trousers. Considering the overall minimalist design of the knife, the size of the flipper is equally reserved.
When used, it still impresses with its outstanding functionality and reliably opens the blade on VG-10 ball bearings. The blade shape of this classic trapper pocket knife, widely distributed in the United States and worn for many years by Brad Zinker, was the inspiration for this unusual piece.
