A brief history of the brand
Kanetsune is a brand of Kitasho Co., Ltd., based in Seki, a Japanese city historically known as the “City of Cutlery.” The company officially dates back to 1964, with family roots in knife manufacturing and trade going back to the 1930s. The name Kanetsune is traditionally associated with a renowned master bladesmith of the Muromachi period, underlining its strong connection to Japanese forging heritage.
Use and maintenance advice
The Blue Steel Damascus blade requires care: after use, it is recommended to wash by hand, dry immediately, and apply a light protective oil layer during storage or use in humid environments. Avoid dishwashers and prolonged contact with water or aggressive substances. The samegawa provides a natural, secure grip, enhancing handle stability even with wet hands.
Why choose this knife
The Kanetsune Shinobi KB-209 is not just a knife, but an object with a strong identity: 15-layer Damascus Blue Steel for a distinctive cutting edge, a traditional handle with samegawa and cord for control and authenticity, and a Japanese-style wooden sheath for elegant presentation. An ideal choice for enthusiasts seeking a fixed blade with true Japanese character, beyond common Western designs.KB209 -
