The Zero Tolerance 0100 is one of the first knives produced by Zero Tolerance, the premium division of Kai USA, which was launched in 2006 to develop professional tools for military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders. The 0100 model was, in fact, one of the first three fixed-blade knives in the original lineup, alongside the 0121 and 0150 models.

The design bears the unmistakable stylistic signature of Ken Onion, the renowned American designer already responsible for numerous successes at Kershaw. The distinctive “S”-curved blade offers an unusual combination of cutting ability, power, and precision, making the ZT0100 suitable for both tactical applications and the most demanding outdoor use.

For its construction, Zero Tolerance chose CPM 3V, a steel then considered cutting-edge for its strength and impact resistance, paired with a tungsten DLC coating and three-dimensionally machined G-10 scales. This combination helped solidify the brand’s early reputation as a manufacturer of “overbuilt” knives, designed without compromise for field use.

Today, the ZT 0100 is a discontinued model particularly prized by collectors, as it is considered one of the knives that helped define the Zero Tolerance brand’s identity in its early years.

For almost a decade, Cold Steel® offered a wicked-looking little boot knife called the Culloden®. It was based on the traditional Scottish 'black knife' or 'Skean Dhu' as it is more commonly called in Gaelic, the ancient language of Scotland.

The Caledonian Edge™ features a number of modern variations and refinements over its predecessor. The blade is made of a virtually unbreakable San Mai III® construction and, like the original Skean Dhu, features a thin, sharp point, as sharp as the proverbial needle. 

The traditional tang seen on the Skean Dhu of yesteryear has been retained and provides an aggressive, non-slip platform for the thumb and forefinger, allowing for better control when using the blade to cut or pierce.

The handle of the Caledonian Edge™ has a profile that hugs the palm of the hand and a relatively thin cross-section that enhances its qualities. It is flat enough not to roll or twist in the palm of the hand, yet comfortable enough to accommodate a wide range of grip styles. A perfect blend of strength and beauty, it features a mirror-polished black Micarta superstructure and titanium bolsters.ne handed opening.
