Each blade is built to withstand a lot of use by reenactors or stage performers. Forged of high carbon steel that’s fully tempered. The edges and points are 3/16″ thick and rounded over for better nick resistance. W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company was created at the beginning of the century, at a time when pocket knives were as indispensable as a watch. Over the years the company has established itself as a leading company in the market launch of new materials and innovative designs.

The company's roots date back to 1889, when enterprising brothers, William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John and Andrew, in the Case family began selling craft knives from the back of a van in northern New York. SILENTE is the name of the knife taken from the motto "SICUT NOX SILENTES" by N.O.C.S. Central Security Operations Unit, special anti-terrorist unit of the State Police.

SILENTE was presented to the Department, the Authorities, the Minister of the Interior and the Chief of Police on the occasion of the forty-year ceremony of the foundation of the NOCS.

SILENTE is a unique model of its kind that fulfills equally unique needs: the handle is divided into two parts and creates the handle of a clamp placed in the end of the handle. Tips for knife maintenance

Proper maintenance prolongs the life of the knife, makes work easier and safer and reduces wire consumption. Some advices:

- Pay attention that the knives placed in the dishwasher bump into other objects; the blades could be damaged.

- The guaranteed knives for dishwashers that are not immediately washed in the machine should be rinsed under the water tap to remove the remains of highly corrosive foods (fats, vinegar, fruit juices).

- Make sure that the knives do not need to be cut to perfection, have them rectified or sharpened by professionals in the sector.
