The M1A1 model is Extrema Ratio's personal interpretation, created to pay homage to the historic folding knife used by the Italian Army.

During World War II, the original knife was part of the British Army's equipment. At the end of the war, thanks to the “Marshall Plan” for European recovery, the Italian Army received some of the weapons and equipment supplied to the Allies during the war, including this multifunctional tool. It was later reproduced in Italy in three modified versions.

Extrema Ratio, to bid farewell to this historic and renowned knife, presents a final exclusive version, limited to only 130 pieces.

Like its predecessor, the M1A1 LAST CALL is equipped with a can opener, bottle opener, screwdriver, and knot-tying peg. The reversible clip is designed for maximum concealability.

The Spearpoint Vega combines precision engineering and premium materials in a superior folding knife. The lightweight and durable frame is made of finely sandblasted and polished aerospace titanium, embellished with carbon fiber inserts. This variant is designed for outdoor, survival, bushcraft, and prepping users: areas where reliability in the field, weather resistance, and maintainability are essential. Nitrogen steel maintains excellent edge retention, combined with excellent rust resistance and, above all, greater ease of resharpening compared to M390. The increased resilience makes these models more tolerant to the abuse typical of a field environment.

Technical insight into nitrogen-added steels
Nitrogen steels, or nitrogen-added steels, are alloys in which nitrogen is used as an alloying element instead of, or in addition to, carbon. Although nitrogen is less effective than carbon in hardening the martensitic matrix, it has the advantage of forming stable compounds with chromium to a much lesser extent. This allows a greater amount of chromium to be kept in solid solution, improving corrosion resistance. In addition, nitrogen contributes to the hardness and stability of the structure, giving these steels a good balance between hardness, toughness, and corrosion resistance. Compared to traditional martensitic steels, nitrogen steels can therefore offer a better combination of mechanical properties and resistance to chemicals, while maintaining good workability and sharpenability characteristics.

VIPERA M390 (Total Black)
It is positioned as a specialist tool for tactical and operational use, where maximum hardness, extreme edge retention, and penetration are priorities. M390 steel (traditional martensitic with high chromium and vanadium content) is perfect for this: very high hardness (61 HRC), excellent edge retention, but typically more difficult to resharpen in the field and less tough than more ductile steels.
