The MC-23 series marks the first collaboration between the Japanese brand Mcusta and renowned American knife maker Mike Irie, celebrated since 1991 for his compact, elegant, and highly functional hunting knives. This partnership has given rise to a line that reinterprets the classic style of the “Sport 100,” “200,” and “300” collections, preserving their original spirit while enriching them with Japanese precision craftsmanship.

Crafted in the city of Seki, the heart of Japanese knife-making tradition, the MC-23 is a fixed-blade knife that combines refined aesthetics with practicality. The blade, made of laminated VG-10 and Damascus steel with a matte gray finish and hammered texture (tsuchime), offers durability, high performance, and a distinctive visual impact. The spine features fine jimping to ensure greater control during use.

T4000 S Ranger Limited Edition is a limited series version of only 100 pieces based on the T4000 model, a reworking of the Japanese Wakizashi short sword that the Samurai carried at all times in contact with the body.

It is a timeless tactical tool that follows no fashion but faithfully adheres to the Extrema Ratio philosophy aimed at fulfilling all functional requirements.

This model continues Extrema Ratio's purest Tanto series designed especially for lovers of the Japanese blade profile, who do not want to give up typical tactical accessories such as textile sheath and special polymer handle.

The blade, made of Böhler N690 steel hardened to 58 HRC and burnished to MIL - C- 13924, features Geotech Camo customization, Extrema Ratio's innovative and original camouflage pattern made by laser engraving.

The grip, in HCS coloring, is made of Forprene, an elastomer that is part of the "NATO standard" due to its exceptional resistance to extreme conditions.

The black-colored Cordura sheath is and equipped with MOLLE system that allows its carrying on tactical vests and general belts and guarantees the safe carrying of the razor-sharp blade by protecting it from shocks that could reduce its efficiency.

The T4000 S Ranger Limited Edition comes in an IP67-certified watertight Polypropylene technical case with pressurization valve that is weather, dust and shock resistant. Also inside is a double-grit sharpening plate (ceramic abrasive and synthetic diamond) and a metal plaque with the numbering of the limited series of 100.

With this exclusive edition of Coltelleria Collini in collaboration with Fox we have chosen to match a model with a particular design like the Yaru with a Japanese powder (sintered) and rolled steel (SanMai) by Takefu Steel.

The rolled steel - imported in Italy by Collini Steel directly from the Japanese Takefu Steel - is based on the ancient Japanese tradition in the creation of the famous Samurai swords. As early as 1100, expert Japanese blacksmiths combined different materials to give Katana swords incredible cutting capabilities combined with previously unknown strength and flexibility. thanks to the use of high quality steels with high carbon content (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered (SPG2), in the core steel, the blade, once hardened, reaches hardness and cutting performances definitely higher than those reached with the use of traditional steels.

Built on the principle of Japanese swords, the multilayer steel is difficult to break thanks to the toughness of the central steel (Core Steel) and the elasticity of the steel used for the lateral coating (Stainless Steel).

- Improved corrosion resistance
The steel used for the outer layers (Stainless Steel) gives the blade a high resistance to corrosion. The combination of the two or more materials used by Takefu Steel generates, at a galvanic level, a structure that improves corrosion resistance even on the edge.

- Easy machining even after heat treatment
Although steel normally becomes harder after hardening, the lateral steel used in multilayer machining does not lose its softness and allows easy machining, drilling or welding even after heat treatment. For optimum blade performance, cryogenic treatment is recommended.

The Buck 551, often known as “King Charles II,” is a vintage folding knife produced in the United States between the early and mid-1990s in limited quantities.

Appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts of historic American knives, it is a more compact version than other Buck models from the same period, designed for everyday use but with careful workmanship and reliable materials.

Japanese steel meets Italian excellence

For this 2020 collaboration, exclusively for Coltelleria Collini, we decided to offer a series of best sellers produced by Extrema Ratio. These knives are made using the renowned San Mai steel produced by Japan’s Takefu Steel. Specifically, we used carbon-rich V-Toku2 at 62/63HRC for the central core and stainless SUS410 for the outer layers, resulting in superior cutting performance, penetration, edge retention, ease of sharpening, and at the same time excellent corrosion resistance and increased resilience due to the laminated structure.

Model Col Moschin Compact: this First Production Run was limited to 15 numbered units, from 1 to 15.

The lethal efficiency of the COL MOSCHIN knife, now in compact version. Comes with a rigid belt sheath and BELT-CLIP. The sheath can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or at a 45° angle.

The laminated steel – imported into Italy by Collini Steel directly from Japan’s Takefu Steel – is based on the age-old Japanese sword-making tradition. As early as the 1100s, Japanese blacksmiths were combining different metals to craft Katana swords with extraordinary cutting power, resistance, and flexibility. This revolutionary technique allowed Samurai swords to survive through centuries and become among the most fascinating human-made artifacts. Applied to modern metallurgy, this tradition now yields advanced steels already used in knife-making by brands like Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, etc.

San Mai Steel Features: A combination of different metals bonded together to create a composite with amplified properties:

- Greater edge retention
Thanks to high-carbon premium steels (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or powder steels (SPG2) in the core, once hardened, the blade achieves cutting performance far superior to traditional steels.

- Higher resilience
Based on Japanese sword construction, the multi-layer steel is highly resistant to breaking due to the toughness of the core and flexibility of the stainless cladding.

- Improved corrosion resistance
The outer stainless layers ensure high corrosion resistance. Takefu’s multi-metal bonding also enhances galvanic protection of the edge.

- Easy processing post heat-treatment
Despite being hardened, the outer layers retain softness, allowing easy drilling, grinding, or welding. Cryogenic treatment is recommended for optimal performance.
