This is an advanced powder metallurgy steel that enhances the already high-performance formula of cobalt-enriched VG-10 by incorporating niobium, nitrogen, and higher amounts of carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium. The result is a material that offers an exceptional balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance, toughness, and ease of resharpening.
The PlainEdge™ full flat blade with a satin finish makes the most of these properties, while the FRN (glass-reinforced nylon fiber) handle, injection molded in the characteristic cobalt blue of the SPY27 line, ensures lightness and strength. The knife features a back lock mechanism and a four-position clip, configurable for tip-up or tip-down carry on either side.

Its advanced formula combines elements such as vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, and nitrogen, enhanced by the presence of cobalt and the CPM process, to offer an extraordinary balance between edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness.
