The Benchmade Foray 698-181 Gold Class is one of the most prestigious interpretations of the compact Foray, produced by Benchmade as a Limited Edition from the Gold Class series, the line dedicated to the most exclusive models in the American manufacturer's production.

Gold Class represents the pinnacle of the Benchmade philosophy: selected models are reinterpreted using premium materials, special machining and superior finishes, transforming a production knife into an object primarily intended for collecting.

The 698-181 combines a spectacular stainless Damasteel blade with Loki pattern with a handle made of marbled carbon fiber with mother-of-pearl inlays, creating a striking contrast between technical materials and natural details that makes each example visually distinctive.

One of the most sought-after versions of the Benchmade Foray

The Foray was conceived as a compact and elegant folder, characterized by balanced proportions and Benchmade's renowned AXIS Lock mechanism.

Although not stainless, it offers good corrosion resistance for its category and ensures excellent edge retention even in the most demanding uses. Cutting, carving, and even chopping are the unmistakable comfort zone of this outdoor knife.

To ensure maximum stability, the tang is full-length and protrudes a few millimeters from the end of the handle, so that it can easily withstand even powerful blows with round wood. A short section of the blade's back forms sharp 90-degree edges on both sides to make sparks with an optional fire starter. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) was chosen as the handle material, which completely encloses the tang and has a grippy texture.

Over the years, the Mustang has become the epitome of the muscle car and now continues its legacy in the seventh generation. Boker cites the vehicle's unmistakable design and makes the legend even more tangible in the 1969 Mach-1 namesake.

Parts of the wheel hub, wishbone and suspension were used for the prized 84-ply Damascus blade, hand-forged by Chad Nichols in the Wavepool pattern. Designed by Tommaso Rumici, the knife is "muscular" and unique, combining the Camaro Z28's distinctive features of shape and strength. The elegant Damascus blade, hand forged by Chad Nichols with 80 layers in the "Tread" pattern, is reminiscent of the muscle car's sloping hood. To that end, parts from the upper suspension arm of the original vintage Camaros were used to forge the blade.

Based on an analysis of the color of an original model, the "Le Mans Blue" lacquer finish was created especially for Boker for the aluminum handle, which interprets the body lines in a nostalgic way and is enriched with exciting details. The notchback, small rear spoiler and slat-shaped air intakes on the rear fenders have been beautifully integrated into the knife. The blade axle screw is lovingly inspired by the rims often used on muscle cars, while the straight-line stainless steel clip, milled from billet, is reminiscent of chrome door handles.
