Busse Combat - SARsquatch 2008 Special Edition - INFI Steel & Raptor Micarta - PRIVATE COLLECTION - Knife
KNIFE PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED, FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION
* Provenance: Acquired from a private individual; previously purchased and used
* Condition: Structure intact, no functional compromises, fully operational and ready for use. Presence of surface oxidation and signs of aging, consistent with the untreated finish. The absence of a coating has allowed, over the years, the development of a natural patina and signs of oxidation that attest to the authenticity of its use. These elements reinforce its technical character and ensure its longevity.
* Commercial Availability: Discontinued
* Sharpening: Professionally resharpened
* Blade Markings: Surface oxidation and signs of aging
* Handle Markings: None
* Box: /
* Sheath: Handcrafted Kydex, made specifically for this knife

* Inspected and Certified by our in-house laboratoryThe Busse SARsquatch is one of the most iconic models in the Busse Combat Knife Company’s lineup, a direct expression of the design philosophy developed by Jerry Busse: maximum reliability, uncompromising construction, and proven performance in the field.
This specific 2008 Special Edition version stands out for its less common configuration, lacking a protective coating. A choice that at the time favored a more “bare and functional” approach, now particularly appreciated by the most experienced enthusiasts.
For many collectors and users, the SARsquatch represents one of those models that, during its production run, were difficult to find and even harder to purchase. An iconic piece from an era when Busse operated with limited availability and extremely high demand.
At the heart of the SARsquatch is the famous INFI steel, a proprietary alloy developed in-house by Busse, the specific composition details of which have been deliberately kept confidential over time.
In practice, INFI is recognized for: High resilience, suitable for intensive and heavy-duty use; Corrosion resistance superior to the average for non-stainless steels; Good edge retention, with ease of maintenance.
These qualities have helped build the brand’s reputation, making Busse models practical tools for real-world use.
This SARsquatch model is aimed at an audience that understands the value of the Busse project and the context in which it was born. It is not a pristine “collector’s item,” but an authentic knife, true to its operational nature.
It represents a tangible opportunity for those who, in the 2000s, followed the brand and appreciated its products but were unable to easily acquire them: today, it is possible to purchase an original piece, with a distinctive configuration and a history already written, ready to continue being used.

Randall Knives - Model 1-7 - Micarta Finger Grooves - Private
The Randall Model 1 Fighter was one of the first models produced in Randall's Orlando workshop. A Model 1, personally made by Bo Randall, served as the prototype for the Springfield Randall, produced by the Northampton Cutlery Company near Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1943 and 1944 for issue to American military personnel.
Since World War II, Randall knives have been among the world's best-known handmade knives and are still produced in the family-run Orlando workshop, much in the same way Bo made his knives in the late 1930s and early 1940s. The company has been managed by Bo's son Gary since 1970, currently joined by his sons Jason and Michael.

* Inspected and Certified by our in-house laboratoryThe Zero Tolerance 0100 is one of the first knives produced by Zero Tolerance, the premium division of Kai USA, which was launched in 2006 to develop professional tools for military personnel, law enforcement, and first responders. The 0100 model was, in fact, one of the first three fixed-blade knives in the original lineup, alongside the 0121 and 0150 models.
The design bears the unmistakable stylistic signature of Ken Onion, the renowned American designer already responsible for numerous successes at Kershaw. The distinctive “S”-curved blade offers an unusual combination of cutting ability, power, and precision, making the ZT0100 suitable for both tactical applications and the most demanding outdoor use.
For its construction, Zero Tolerance chose CPM 3V, a steel then considered cutting-edge for its strength and impact resistance, paired with a tungsten DLC coating and three-dimensionally machined G-10 scales. This combination helped solidify the brand’s early reputation as a manufacturer of “overbuilt” knives, designed without compromise for field use.
Today, the ZT 0100 is a discontinued model particularly prized by collectors, as it is considered one of the knives that helped define the Zero Tolerance brand’s identity in its early years.

The Sethlans is available in two versions with two different types of steel.
The Black version uses D2 steel, heat and cryogenically treated to 60 HRC, which has a high regrindability even with makeshift tools. To give greater hardness and resistance, the blade is coated with the new Teflon-based product “EXP DARK” offered by Extrema Ratio.
The knife comes with G10 scales featuring the ergonomic design characteristic of Extrema Ratio handles. They can be removed to reveal the skeletonized structure of the knife, which allows for maximum lightness with minimum thickness. For lovers of extreme customization, the full-tang structure allows the handle to be coated with paracord.
The sheath is made of a lightweight, minimalist Kydex. It can be disassembled and adapted for both left- and right-handed users. The addition of an optional belt clip allows the knife to be positioned either vertically or horizontally and makes the sheath much more versatile than the textile version. It also comes with a mini pouch with a M.O.L.L.E. system containing a double-sided sharpening stone and a firesteel for lighting fires.

For this 2021 collaboration between Coltelleria Collini of Busto Arsizio and Fox Knives of Maniago, we decided to offer the 609OD Bushman, an outstanding bushcraft knife produced by Fox Knives of Maniago, using high-performance Japanese V-Toku2 Sanmai steel (5mm) from Takefu Steel instead of the D2 steel used in the standard model.
Specifically, we used high-carbon V-Toku2 at 62/63HRC for the central core and stainless SUS410 for the outer layers, ensuring exceptional cutting ability, penetration, and edge retention. At the same time, the blade offers high corrosion resistance and increased toughness due to the laminated structure and external stainless steel.
Technical Specifications
Intended Use: Bushcraft, Outdoor, Collection Production Type: Industrial Blade Production: Italy Blade: Full-tang, laminated Japanese steel (San Mai) with a cutting edge in V-Toku2 (high-carbon) at 62/63HRC and outer layers in SUS410 (stainless) Blade Treatment: Satin finish Handle: Micarta Blade Length: 160mm Blade Thickness: 5mm Total Length: 290mm Closed Thickness: - Balance: Forward Weight: 369g Sheath: Leather, belt-carry, ambidextrous, for horizontal or vertical carry Packaging: Cardboard box with Fox logos Edge Grind: Flat with scandi-convex sharpening Notes: Special limited edition - As the cutting edge is high-carbon steel, it is recommended to apply a thin layer of oil to preserve the blade in perfect condition. Like the ancient swords of the Japanese Samurai.
The laminated steel—imported into Italy by Collini Steel directly from Takefu Steel in Japan—follows the ancient Japanese tradition of crafting legendary Samurai swords. As early as the 1100s, Japanese blacksmiths combined different materials to create Katana swords with incredible cutting power, strength, and flexibility, unmatched at the time. This revolutionary forging technique has allowed Samurai swords to survive to this day as some of the most fascinating objects ever created.
By applying this tradition to modern metallurgy, we now have technologically advanced steels that have been tested and widely used in knife-making by renowned brands such as Fallkniven, Cold Steel, Mcusta, Kai, Sog, Zwilling, Rockstead, and more.
San Mai Steel Features: This consists of different types of metals fused together to create a composite steel that enhances and intensifies the individual strengths of each material:
- Longer-lasting cutting edge: High-performance, high-carbon core steels (VG10, CoS, Shiro) or sintered steels (SPG2) provide exceptional hardness and cutting performance after heat treatment.
- Increased toughness: Inspired by Japanese sword-making, the multi-layered steel is highly resistant to breakage due to the toughness of the core steel and the flexibility of the outer stainless steel layers.
- Improved corrosion resistance: The outer stainless steel layers provide high corrosion resistance. The galvanic combination of Takefu Steel’s materials further enhances resistance along the edge.
- Ease of reworking after heat treatment: Unlike standard steels, the outer layers retain some softness even after hardening, allowing for easier processing, drilling, and welding.
- Enhanced aesthetics: Multi-layered or Damascus-patterned knives are visually striking, elegant, and highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

Idun is a deity in Norse mythology, known as the keeper of the apples of eternal youth. These magical apples grant immortality to the gods who consume them, keeping them eternally young and vigorous. Idun plays a crucial role in the Norse pantheon, as without her apples, the gods would begin to age. A famous myth tells of how Loki kidnapped her under the order of the giant Thjazi, causing the gods to age rapidly until her release. Her connection to youth and vitality makes her a central figure in Norse mythology.

Gabriele Sammatrice/Sicilian Forge Custom Knives is a skilled craftsman who offers blades with character, strength and cutting edges of the highest level. He often uses A8 Modified tool steel: a very strong alloy steel. The most common use of this alloy is in striking blades. It has extreme toughness with good edge retention. The 8.5% chromium makes it almost stainless.A8-mod is a modified version of AISI A8. It is a tool steel with a medium carbon content and alloyed with chromium, molybdenum and vanadium. This steel is an improvement on A8 steel, with good hardenability, toughness and dimensional stability to heat treatment.

* Inspected and Certified by our internal laboratoryThe Bark River Aurora II is designed as the ultimate bushcraft knife, a result of extensive testing conducted by experts in North America and Europe. This outdoor knife, perfected through feedback received, is notable for its balance and versatility. The blade, made of CPM 3V steel, is renowned for its exceptional strength and its ability to retain an excellent edge over time. However, it is important to watch for moisture and acids, as CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Cleaning the knife after use and occasionally applying oil is recommended to ensure its longevity.
The Aurora II, significantly larger than the standard model, features a pointed tip ideal for detailed tasks and a spine suited for use with a fire starter. These characteristics make it an indispensable tool for outdoor activities.
The handle is made of desert ironwood, a hardwood appreciated for its color and unique pattern, giving the knife a luxurious look and improving grip. Each piece is handmade by Bark River, meaning that every knife is unique and may have slight variations compared to the images.

The “Three Kronor” line blends the latest martensitic technologies with the ancient roots of the Swedish royal family.
In fact, these knives are the only ones that can boast the royal symbol of three crowns placed on the blade and on the beautiful wooden box that contains the knife and sheath.
The rolled steel used is currently one of the best industrial steels on the market and is composed of an inner sheet of SGPS from powder, a steel already used for the U2 model, at 62HRC coupled with two outer sheaths of VG2. The knives thus reveal exceptional cutting, penetration and edge-holding qualities.Blade: Three-layer rolled 3G steel (VG2 and SGPS “Super Gold Powder Stainless Steel” at 62 HRC)
