Fällkniven AB celebrates its 40th anniversary in the international knife market with a special version of its bestseller, the F1 Pilot survival knife, now made of high-quality Swedish steel (Elmax). This special model originates from 1987, when the Swedish Air Force commissioned Fällkniven to develop a new survival knife for the technical environment of the JAS 39 Griffin system.

The first delivery of thousands of F1 knives to the Swedish Armed Forces took place in August 1995, and sales to the civilian market began the following year. The success was remarkable: Fällkniven introduced an innovative philosophy for survival knives, in stark contrast to the outdated technologies that had dominated the development of combat and survival knives since World War II.

The Fallkniven H1 knife is a very handy knife with impressive strength. The H1 is our first true hunting knife and encapsulates the history of Nordic Scandinavian cutlery art. Because of this heritage, the H1 does not have a standard finger guard, but grip security is improved by the ergonomic thermorun plastic handle.

The special design of the H1 blade is used to work game while hunting. The H1 knife may look different, but it works very well. In many ways, the performance of a knife depends on the person holding it. Knowing where and how to properly carve game goes beyond the knife. In the late 1980s, Walter Fortunato designed and built the stopper sealing system that has made Waf famous throughout the world. The Block Waf System© still represents the most ingenious invention for preserving the precious characteristics of newly uncorked sparkling wines over time. The patent, applied in many items in the stoppers line, follows Pascal's principle that pressure exerted on a fluid is transmitted in all directions with equal intensity. By applying Pascal's principle to the bottle, the elastic teat goes to adhere to the inner wall of the mouthpiece. The head gasket with which the teat is fitted tends to rest against the top edge of the bottle, creating an initial obstacle to the escape of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide, again due to Pascal's principle, enters the teat through the hole below and as the pressure increases it goes to expand against the glass wall thus creating a state of overpressure inside. The external fixing bracket is designed to counteract the vertical thrust that the stopper receives and thus ensures its tightness, which has been tested up to 6 atmospheres.

WAF Corkscrews

The elegance of a gesture that can be found in everyday life as well as on important occasions.

Corking a bottle represents the encounter between the culture of drinking and the importance of a ritual.

Designed for the first patent in 1965, Waf corkscrews have reached an increasingly sophisticated level of technology over time, so much so that they are now considered a classic Italian wine article. An important itinerary, where the evolution of an object is realised in a gesture: uncorking a bottle of good wine with simplicity and safety.

Waf corkscrews are the only ones of their kind to have been designed and manufactured with these factors in mind, as well as for easy and safe cork extraction.

Diamond sharpening with two different sharpening grits.

The yellow surface consists of titanium and aluminum nitride which greatly prolongs the life of the sharpener. The rough side (44 microns) is used to recover more damaged cutting edges, while the fine side (25 microns) is used for precision sharpening.

For cleaning, use dish soap and warm water.

Like all diamond sharpeners, this whetstone is a little rough at first, but gets smoother after a period of use.
