  19. Citadel - Iaito Steel craft - DNH7 - selective hardening - practice sword

These handcrafted iaito stand out for their classic line and for their functional quality, which is well coupled with the traditional manufacturing techniques and the materials used.
The blades are carbon hardened to a hardness of about 40 HRC after which, after being hammered by hand, the back and sides are covered with clay and the wire is tempered to 60 HRC for excellent cutting, penetration and flexibility. The blade is then hand-polished on stone and the sword is finished in every single detail.

Given the high craftsmanship nature of these swords, we would like to clarify that the photo is purely for illustrative purposes as designs of tsuba fuchi and kashira may differ from the one shown here as well as the weights and measures of the sword may differ, albeit slightly. .

  24. Museum Replicas Windlass - Damascus Viking Sword 500262 - Viking sword

Although iron was a tougher material than bronze it would frequently bend. Damascus, or pattern welded steel, was used to make the blade strong enough to withstand the rigors of combat. Early Viking swords were forged from layers of iron interwoven with strands of steel to produce a very tough sword. This sword is based on an original circa 850-900 AD sword discovered in Finland. The Damascus Viking Sword is made of high carbon Damascus steel. The blade is polished with the fuller acid etched to bring out the beautiful Damascus pattern. The pommel and crossguard are made of solid steel and the grip is leather wrapped wood. Includes a matching wood scabbard with a black leather covering and steel mounts. A very nice example of a true Viking sword.

  37. Citadel - Crafted in DNH7 steel with selective hardening - practice sword

    Citadel - Iaito

These craftsmen stand out for their classic line and their functional quality, which is well matched with traditional manufacturing techniques and the materials used.
The blades are carbon-hardened to a hardness of around 40 HRC after which, after being hammered by hand, the back and sides are covered with clay and the wire is tempered at 60 HRC to have excellent cutting capacity, penetration and flexibility. The blade is then polished by hand on stone and the sword is finished in every single detail.

Given the high nature of these swords, we would like to point out that the photo is purely for illustrative purposes as tsuba designs kits and kashira may differ from the one shown here as they could differ, albeit slightly, the weights and measures of the sword .

  40. Museum Replicas Windlass - Arbedo Sword - Spada Artigianale

  48. Museum Replicas Windlass - Hoplite sword 500734 - handcrafted sword

One-handed sword used by the ancient Greeks.
It was the primary weapon in the battlefield for the Greek armies along with the spear or javelin.
The blade was about two feet long.
The xiphos were good for both cutting and tip attacks thanks to the leaf shape of the blade.
It was generally used only when the spear was abandoned. The straight, double-edged design of the xiphos gave them the same general versatility found in swords used by infantry until firearms displaced the sword on the battlefield.
Its design lent itself to cutting and pushing.

  51. Museum Replicas Windlass - Long Sword of Roven - 500794 - Handcrafted Sword

This replica, built with methodologies and principles very similar to those used in the Middle Ages, is aesthetically detailed and well finished like any display product but also absolutely functional, flexible and well balanced thanks to the production care and the carbon steel used tempered to a hardness 45/49 HRC.

Known by many names (war sword, great sword, broadsword, long sword or simply two-handed sword) it has long confused many collectors but has certainly carved out a place among the most popular weapons. Its length ensures power, resistance and helps to keep a reasonable distance from the opponent. Thanks also to the presence of the ricasso (part of the blade without a cutting edge placed after the guard) this weapon is even more flexible as if necessary it can also be held as a short spear.

The blade is made of carbon steel with a wooden handle woven with leather.

Guard and knob are made of steel.

The scabbard, included with the sword, is in leather.

  62. Windlass - 15th Century Long Sword - historical sword

Around 1450, the long sword, often called "one-and-a-half", was widely used in war, but it was also often a weapon of self-defense for civilians. Coupled to a dagger it was excellent against thieves, brigands and assassins, often organized into gangs that roamed the countryside.

Equipped with a good tip and adequate length, it allowed opponents to be kept at a distance. Its average weight allowed it to be used easily with one hand, in combination with the dagger in the other. Moreover, thanks to the length of the handle, it could be used with both hands to have greater control and perform very powerful cuts.
