  1. Victorinox - Santoku Jubilee Edition 125 Years 17 cm 6.8503.17B

Victorinox Jubilee Edition 125 Years: a celebration of Swiss tradition

In 2009, Victorinox celebrated one of the most important milestones in its history: the 125th anniversary of the company's foundation. Everything began in 1884, when Swiss cutler Karl Elsener opened his workshop in Ibach, Canton of Schwyz, with the aim of producing high-quality knives for the Swiss Army. From that small workshop grew what is now one of the world's most renowned companies for excellence in the production of knives, multi-tools and professional items, a symbol of the prestigious Swiss Made brand.

To celebrate this important anniversary, Victorinox created the prestigious "Jubilee Edition 125 Years - Your Companion for Life" collection, a limited series of commemorative products distributed exclusively during 2009. The collection included the famous Swiss Army Knives, professional kitchen knives, watches and other iconic company products, all featuring a special anniversary design and an elegant red gift box enhanced with the 125th anniversary logo.

The motto "Your Companion for Life" perfectly represents the Victorinox philosophy: designing reliable, durable and functional tools, created to accompany their owner throughout life. This principle has guided the Swiss company for more than a century in its pursuit of maximum construction quality, innovation and manufacturing precision.

Among the commemorative models is the Victorinox Santoku 6.8503.17B Jubilee Edition 125 Years, a kitchen knife that retains all the technical features of the renowned Victorinox professional line, while standing out for its commemorative packaging created exclusively for this anniversary. The stainless steel blade measuring 17 cm (6.5") offers excellent performance for cutting meat, fish and vegetables, while the ergonomic handle ensures comfort, safety and precision during use.

Today, the Jubilee Edition 125 Years series is considered one of the most representative commemorative collections in Victorinox history. Produced for a single anniversary and distributed for a limited period, it is appreciated not only by those looking for an excellent Swiss Made kitchen knife, but also by collectors and enthusiasts who recognize its historical and commemorative value.
The Victorinox Santoku 6.8503.17B Jubilee Edition 125 Years is a kitchen knife from the Swiss Classic series created to celebrate Victorinox's 125th anniversary. Kitchen Knives FAQ

Is a Japanese or European knife better?

Japanese knives are harder, with sharpening angles around 15°, ideal for extremely precise but more delicate cuts. European knives (German and Italian) are more robust, easier to resharpen, and more tolerant to impact, perfect for intensive use.

Can professional kitchen knives go in the dishwasher?

No, it is strongly discouraged. Aggressive detergents, high temperatures, and impacts damage the edge and the blade surface. It is always preferable to wash knives by hand and dry them immediately after use.
