The German company DOVO Solingen celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2006 together with its subsidiary Merkur Solingen.

Dovo products include professional hairdressing scissors, manicure scissors, shaving products, manicure sets.

The DOVO company began producing razors with thirteen employees.

The law passed in 1938 to protect the Solingen name gave it more pride and a sense of security for the brand, as well as an even greater sense of local identity.

The company chose a knight with a sword and hammer as its coat of arms, which penetrated the Western European and North American markets with vigor. -Because of the success also of scissors and razors for hairdressers, the company founded a subsidiary, Merkur Solingen, which produced shaving supplies that were a worldwide success and opened new markets for the company in Asia, particularly in Russia and the Arabian Peninsula.

The AD-10 Lite is the cheaper version of the AD-10 folder with which it shares most of the features, style and high-performance potential such as our unique Tri-Ad Lock, blade configurations and steel thickness. However, we chose to use less expensive materials in manufacturing: for example, instead of G-10 handles we used GFN and for the blade steel we chose to use an AUS 10A instead of CPM-S35VN while still remaining razor sharp and ready for action!

We know that many of our customers are increasingly concerned about the weight and bulk of their EDC (every day carry) knife as space in their pockets is always very limited. That's why we focused on making a feather-light (90g.) and ultra-thin (8.8 mm thick) knife that can be carried 24/7 while still leaving pocket space for other essential accessories.

What we did not do, however, in our attempt to create a super EDC knife was to skimp on workmanship and materials. That's why all the blades in the Air Lite series feature impeccable workmanship and Japanese AUS-10A stainless steel, famous for its ability to hold an edge; the handles, on the other hand, are laser-cut from genuine G-10.

Even the locking mechanism is unbeatable-there's nothing better than our celebrated Tri-Ad Lock when it comes to finger protection. With an affordable price, amazing sharpness, and tremendous comfort and convenience in use, the Air Lite is truly unbeatable!
