On December 9, 1942, during World War II, KA-BAR presented a knife to the United States Marine Corps, hoping it would become the standard weapon. In collaboration with the Marine Quartermaster Department, the project was revised, and production began on an improved combat and utility knife.

During the war, USMC KA-BAR knives gained such recognition for their quality and abundance that "KABAR" became the common name. It was adopted by the Marines, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, and Underwater Demolition Teams. Years later, many KA-BAR knives were reactivated in Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan conflicts.

In 2019, KA-Bar partnered with Spartan Blades to form Pineland Cutlery. CEO John Stitt desired a "KA-BAR" with enhanced durability, robustness, and corrosion resistance. During development, metallurgist Larrin Thomas identified CPM MagnaCut® steel with the desired qualities.

CPM MagnaCut® is a sintered high-carbon steel produced by Crucible Industries, specifically designed for blades. Spartan Blades developed the Spartan-KA-BAR using CNC machining, cryogenic treatment, and PVD coatings.

The M-PAT was created by U.S. military service member Seth Brown and was designed specifically for fighter jet crews. Its slim profile and sturdy size are designed it specifically so that it can be carried on the safety vest or otherwise at the top of the torso in order to cause as little discomfort as possible while in the flight deck. It is ideal for vertical carrying and, thanks to the two retention modes of the sheath, it will not go anywhere until you need it. The M-PAT's applications extend outside the cockpit and it is perfectly suited to a belt or tactical vest. It is always handy when you need it and out of the way when you don't. The Baja 3.0 knife is a synthesis of simple design and excellent execution. RAO ACQUIRED FROM VERSION ' AIR FORCE
Folding knife made upon specific requests of the department of the Italian Army 185 ° RAO ( Target Acquisition Regiment ) and is now included the eponymous department . The knife supplied differs from the calendar for the total lack of writings or logos on the blade.
